    Default acne scars?

In the last few years I have gone through some periods where my skin has been reeeally bad-- generally I don't struggle with breakouts, but there have been 3/4 months periods over the past few years where my skin has been shit.

Since really changing my diet and making an effort to eat healthier and follow a regular skin treatment routine, my breakouts have ceased. I haven't had a pimple in weeks.

The problem is, I have some red marks on my chin/lower cheek area that look like acne scars. When I cover them up with foundation and a little cover up you can't see them at all since it's really just redness-- there's no bumps or indentations or anything like that-- but I'm trying to go make up free for a good portion of the week, as that's also REALLY helped my skin, and it's hard to do that with these.

Does anyone have any advice for products or even procedures that help improve/diminish acne scars?

I had a series of cosmedix Blueberry Jessner peels done after having blue laser treatment to get rid of my acne and being left with a face FULL of hyper pigmentation and scars. It was really good at taking away those red marks like you describe, and it wasn't too expensive, about £50 a peel when I bought a package.
Unfortunately my acne came back but I would get the Peels again once its under control.
I'm sure other peels are available but its pretty dangerous to try diy glycolic peels etc. you can buy off eBay. Some contain levels of acid that can permenantly damage your skin.
    Best see an aesthetician.

rose hip oil! i know exactly what you are talking about because i have them too, those annoying little red dots that aren't actual acne scars or pimples but look like hell. rose hip oil has done wonders for me, i'd love to try peels next.

Wear sunscreen whenever you can/need to. Sun makes acne scars worse and last longer. To fade the scars with drug store products I recommend a few things. A cheap cream like benzogel (benzol peroxide) is great but it really dries up your skin and makes it flakey. So if possible spot treat only. You're in UK right? Boots sells a line called indeed (http://indeedlabs.com). The retinol reface is a miracle product. It helped clear my acne, takes care of wrinkles and scarring. I use it every night and I use the pepta-bright during the day. I've been using this routine since September and the skin on my face is amazing. I can go out now during the day to run errands without having to put on makeup.

I actually found that tanning in a low level tanning bed for 5-8 minutes once a week works wonders for my skin. I am less oily, I have ZERO breakouts since I started when I was 16, my scars have faded and I feel good.

Not for everyone, I don't tan to tan, I'm too white, lol, so I just tan to help my skin. I used to have BAD acne, now I haven't had any in years and my skin looks great. I second rose hip oil, and also suggest jojoba oil. Drink lots of water.

I've been using rose hip oil and the retinal reface and have noticed a difference-- I'm thinking about investing in the other one you mentioned, pepta bright.

For the rose hip oil Simone, do you put it all over you face or just put some on a cotton ball and press it against the spots?

I really want to invest in doing some peels, though. I feel like I need something more drastic to get my skin to the level I want it to be at.

I had ice-pick acne scars from high school and retin-a and SkinMedica rejuvinize peels have been a godsend. Seriously, you can barely see my scars anymore.

Something that really helped my acne scars was the Proactiv toner. I do not use anything else in the system but the toner, it's the best!
