Default How does everyone stay fit?

I'm needing some motivation to get back in the treating my body right lifestyle.

How do you ladies stay fit? What the things you do every day to treat your body well? What do you eat like, what is your exercise regimen?

I love working out, but I have been so lazy! How do you motivate yourself to start working out again after not doing it for a while?

I eat Paleo 85/15, gym 5-6 days a week. If I think about slacking I look at my fat pictures and remember what I used to be.

Without fail, I get on the scale every morning. That way I know if I overdid it the day before and double down, if necessary, to maintain weight. Hot yoga 5x/week and weights/videos at home 3x. Still feel like I need to bump things up a bit, especially for the winter.

Don't weigh yourself too often. Trust me it can and will fuck with your head. I chucked out my home scale. I go by how my clothes fit and how I look and feel. I'll weigh myself at our grossly inaccurate work scale for fun.

I have to weigh myself every day too.. I get off track if I don't. I guess it's different for everyone. Working helps me lose weight soo soo much. Other than that, keep on track. Just being consistent with your eating and working out is so important.

I have been very lazy working out too. I used to be at the gym all the time, but I attended classes and it kept me going because it was always same time, same place, workout, bam. But now my lifestyle is different and I should be ready to workout whenever I get some time, or be able to move my workout along the day to better fit my activities. Only I keep getting unmotivated. I started swimming, loved it, then couldn't go to the pool for a week, lost motivation, started rowing, same thing happened, etc. I just can't seem to keep motivated enought to meet any type of organized goal.

Right now I would be happy just being able to squeeze in 4 solid workouts a week, because this is week three of me of hitting only yoga once a week.

Pole and if I wanted to lose weight in a short amount of time I'd go running a few miles a day.

    Paleo
    Primal Blueprint fitness plan
    Hot yoga once per week
Use my bike and walk to run errands
    Walking my dogs

Mindset is the biggest challenge, its about taping into desire for change for me (or sometimes desperation/fear of the alternative) Once you can stick to a month-40days you've reprogrammed your brain too.

Perhaps you could try something that I do when unmotivated. I commit to travelling to the gym but not necessarily to working out. Once I'm there I feel more motivated. Get yourself to the building and let the atmosphere do the rest.

Also, new updated music often! Rewards of new workout gear (in the past).

Google some tips, there is usually some psychology driven answers out there.

I try to to to the gym every day. I give myself 2 days a week to use as "off days" in case something comes up, but I am usually able to make time. I eat clean, meaning no processed foods, things out of a box or can. I try to eat organic as much as possible, meaning fresh produce and free-range meats. I eat as much protein as possible to help with healthy muscle growth. No sugars. Each month, if I have earned it, I give myself a "cheat day", where I can eat whatever I want with no remorse. For motivation, I look at old pictures of myself, reflect on how far I've come and how badly I want to be the hottest girl up in the club big money as a result. My earnings have increased tenfold since I started seeing the results from working out. I also like to go on Pinterest, Instagram, etc. and look up before and after photos of other people. That motivates me.

Weighing yourself per day is usually really discouraged by health experts. Your weight can fluctuate by as much as 5 pounds at any point. I used to weight myself multiple times per week only because my gym had a scale, I weighed myself out of curiosity and never used it as a measure of exercising harder or 'dieting' more. I did fluctuate mostly between 130-135 back then.

I follow some fit girls on instagram so when I'm bored looking at it I'll see their workout videos or progress pictures and that motivates me. I also workout early like 630 am so I get it out of the way and I don't have time to talk myself out of it lol. I don't weigh myself I just take measurements.. waist & hips/butt. Oh and buying new workout clothes is always motivating! When I have something new to wear it makes me want to get my ass in the gym more haha.

I'm interested to hear what you ladies do to stay entertained while you're working out (specifically those of you who work out on machines in a gym). Do you watch T.V.? Read? Watch something on your phones? Just listen to music and try not to focus on the workout?

I generally load a video onto my phone and watch it. I used to watch VSFS recordings (they have constant music and it's motivating to look at their bodies!), but you can only watch those so many times before they get old. Lately I've been watching plain ol' movies. Those are good in that they motivate me to work out for longer, but most movies get pretty slow at times, which makes it hard to keep up the intensity of the workout. Sometimes I'll get on YouTube and watch music videos, but it's hard to find playlists that play high-energy, motivational videos, so I end up having to mess with my phone a lot during the workout to find things I like.

^ I just treat youtube like a personal jukebox, I kid you not I can go from high energy dance to Enya in 3 tracks. At the end of a song I just allow a song I want to hear to pop into my head... I focus on the sensations in my body and feel the endorphin rush!

/jack... Uptown Funk Bruno Mars...loving it.

organic raw diet with no processed sugars or alcohol..i'll munch on veggies and fruits when i feel snacky everynight. quitting smoking ( and my Ecig) altogether has made me pig out, but i'm willing to sacrifice a few inches for healthy lungs and radiant skin.
i get exercise by going all out on onstage and taking hikes in the woods, i'm also investing in some free weights and an exercise ball to get more toned.

I rarely weigh myself. I do a combination of things and change it up: Pole, yoga, weights, contortion stretching, some cardio (repeat). On my off days, I do light stretching and maybe jump rope or hula hoop for light cardio, and then whatever else happens that day.

I pretty much eat what I want, but I try not to eat too much sugar. Not so much for weight, but my blood sugar is on the high part of normal.

No carbs!! When you eat meat, eggs or some form of protein it turns into muscle and it burns off fat. When you eat sugar and carbohydrates it turns into fat. Also when you work out you first burn off the carbs and then you finally start burning off the excess fat. Try it for a week and see what happens. Also look up low-carb recipes on pinterest. That is what saved me when i got bored making the same things.

I'm not trying to be the diet police or anything; just wanted to encourage people to do research before they cut out any major food groups. Any extreme diet should be thoroughly researched before being followed. Your body needs carbohydrates to function properly.

with me its sadly purely genetics. Ive never been able to break the 135 lb mark no matter how hard Ive tried ( even with a ton of weight training and super upping my calorie/carb intakes - and Im largely perma toned too. Thats externally look wise atleast, I have to worry about keeping things up or I start to look sick REALLY fast.

biggest things though is a good diet, not alot of bad carbs ( my wife is paleo, but rest of us are more primitive ( ie paleo lite) we dont buy convenience/premade crap, cook/bake/brew etc everything from scratch that we realistically can ane actually grow a ton of our own produce and I hve ducks for eggs ( way healthier than chicken, and way more protein too)

body conditioning is tricky since if its not camming, my other work basically has my ass in a big cushy chair all day doing art, but I do try and make up for it with using a glider every other day or out on a bike weather permitting and so on and just minor things to keep things circulating well

well, grains, veggies and fruits are also carbs and you definitely don't want to cut those out ( esp the veggies n fruits). i think when people think "carbs" they are thinking white breads, cookies, pastas, etc. but plenty of healthy foods that your body needs are carbs. you can't entirely cut them out

For me carbs aren't the "enemy" per se. They're like the one stripper that you don't necessarily hate but the less interaction with her you have the better.

Eat a full breakfast every morning with lots of protein and fiber. That way, you'll stay full for most of the day and wont binge on crap. Plus, you'll have the rest of the day to burn it off by being active. Someone told me that being in shape is 80% your diet and 20% exercise. Eat lots of protein, lean meats, fruits and veggies, nuts, beans, whole grains etc. Stay away from overly processed foods, white breads, candy, fast food, etc. If you want to be slim your best bet is cardio. If you want to build muscle and be toned, use weights and do squats and lunges (it'll help build your booty too). I work out at the gym 3-5 days a week doing both cardio and using weights and machines. I do 45 minutes on the treadmill (cardio) and do another 45 minutes using the machines and weights and doing squats. I've been in the best shape of my life sticking to all of this!
