    Default Why do clubs die?

When I started at this club a few months ago, the weekends were decent. The clients were professionals/traveling business men and older wealthy men. The weekends were fairly busy. In the last month or so I've noticed a decline not only in business but the type of customer coming in. Sunday nights have been good for in the past because they brought in older men and single professionals with money. Last night it was mostly young douchebags and hood rats that came in to bullshit and watch the Packers game. On top of that, things have been so bad for everyone that there were a ton of girls who came in desperate for cash. I know last week was Thanksgiving and that's part of it...but it's been bad for a while. The most I've made at this club is $650 and that was over a month ago. Since then I haven't broken $300. 6 weeks ago I averaged $300-$400 a night even on weeknights. WTF is going on? I am auditioning at another club and jumping ship but I'm just wondering if it's slow for everyone in the Midwest/Chicago right now or if my club is especially dead and shitty? Why does this happen in general? Why are they suddenly letting *anyone* in with no dress code or anything? This is supposed to be a "nice" place and it's like a fancy dive now.

Could be that your 'new girl' money is fading a bit since you are no longer the hot new dancer at this club. I'm sure youre still hot though!

Plus I still think clubs make mistake of having sports on tv. Customers came to a strip club to see sexy women not a sports bar to watch men run around tackling each other. Those tvs tuned to sports just promote dudes turning into 'furniture'.

Plus with Black Friday and Cyber Monday people are spending money but I am wondering if they are spending in retail stores vs. strip club

6 weeks is a really short amount of time for a club to truly take a nosedive - holidays are make or break for a lot of dancers.

Some girls absolutely drown in November-January, because most customers that come in are flat broke and just hanging out. The good customers are out spending money on their families and the shitty broke ones are out at the clubs trying to swindle hard working girls for cheap dances or a warm body in the cold. Hard hustle for little payoff. Don't give up.

Other girls do all right if they have a solid base of regulars.

February is when tax checks start rolling in, and really it does start getting better. February-April are usually low hustle / high return months.

    a few ways.

    1. management starts putting on way too many girls thinking that each is going to make the same amount, therefore increase their cuts (never happens).

    2. the girls management starts hiring are ugly. sorry, but if your chicks are busted, so will be the clientele who come in.

    3. DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS. i live in NJ and we have a heroin epidemic. ever since that shit started, the girls who did drugs for fun now have habits to feed and will do anything to avoid getting dope sick. that breeds extras, so the all the clean, hot dancers move on. then you see a more of #2.

the best way to keep a club hopping is to have hot girls with a good client to dancer ratio, with little toleration for extras and drugs, and girls who don't sit with clients too long without them spending. favoritism, asshole management, and bouncers who don't do their jobs will drive these girls away. anyway, that's my two cents.

Sometimes the snowbirds fly south for the winter. You may be at a seasonal club.

Well, from what my sister told me who use work as a dancer, this time of the year people are really trying to save their money for loved ones. That could be a reason why.

Also, for those who are interested, this is the perfect time of the year to be waitress. Preferably at a restaurant near a mall, or a shopping center. it is crazy how well some restaurants do,and how much great tips servers tend to get around this time of the year.I mean, it's not stripper money, but you will not be disappointed.

Or maybe I am biased cause I live in Memphis, and food is our to go niche around here. But if I were y'all and y'all hurting money try waiting tables like RIGHT NOW!

I have found that management is usually the number one reason why clubs decline. Second to that would be a lack of promotions.

Honestly, almost every club in this country suffers a little during this time of the year. With the holidays and whatnot, men have to spend more on holiday gifts and they have to be with their families more...plus, winter just sucks. Most people dont like going out this time of the year (especially in the northeast where it gets really cold and nasty). The exception would be the south, I know so many men who travel to Florida and other southern states during the winter and spend lots of money on clubs down there.

Circling back to the OP's point, given that she lives in the Midwest, as October approaches ...

    - the 'farm' economy goes into suspended animation until spring
    - heating bills start to rear their ugly heads
    - weather starts to make travel, and particularly travel after dark, more difficult

and of course there are seasonal factors which seem to hold true nationwide

    - thanksgiving, Christmas and new year's holidays all place a 'strain' on family budgets
    - those same holidays reduce the 'opportunity' for guys to go out to clubs on their own
    - anticipated costs for Christmas presents and/or 'winter' vacations typically places additional 'strain' on family budgets

As to certain areas doing well at this time of year, that's actually true. Generally speaking, those areas correspond to popular tourist areas like the aforementioned Florida. However, when considering travelling to such areas to dance, keep in mind the additional expenses involved, as well as the fact that the 'hustle' you are used to working in your home club may not result in high earnings at a club in a different state with a very different 'local market'.

Yes I have noticed that management has now started hiring any and everything with a vagina...and drugs are becoming a big problem. Had one girl start sniffing a line of coke right next to me in the DR. Couldn't even be bothered to take in the bathroom. Since it's cold outside it always smells like weed in the DR and girls are getting in fights over who stole who's molly or Xanax and whatever else. Had one girl go through my locker looking for drugs or cash...luckily I don't keep cash in my locker or do drugs and she got fired but yeah. I think it's a mixture of the season in general and the club itself going downhill. I'm worried that this club gets busted I'll go to jail just for being around all of it. Time to move on...:/

I hope you find a better club soon. I usually did well around this time in Chicagoland but I did notice after NYE things took a nosedive. I'm going to be out there for a while and I was thinking about giving dancing a shot even though it was awful for me last summer. Only place I made money was HB's.

^I met a dancer from HBs and she liked it there. It's a bit far from me though. I'm auditioning at Polekatz tonight but if it doesn't work out I may have to check out HBs.

You'll probably see a bump in your earnings after the first week of December. Most companies that offer a Christmas bonus will distribute those checks near mid-month. You'll see another earnings bump after Jan 1, as the blue collar customers begin getting their tax returns.

The key is to work a consistent schedule and to take good care of your regulars. Your regulars will help you get through the slower days.

Polekatz told me they'd call me in 30 days and never did. I only saw one black girl working when I went in so I'm thinking they have a quota. HB's was far as heck from me, I think you're from around my way (SW burbs) but the money was good. Fees were absurd though.

Clubs die when management begins to allow the dancers and customers to make their own rules.

Yep I got the "we'll call you" bullshit today too...and I only saw one other blonde! There were allooottt of girls there though so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I know they hire on the spot because I chatted with another girl who was hired on the spot and I did work there for a day or two 2 years ago. I know what "we'll call you" means.

That's good to know..unfortunately I don't really have any regulars anymore. A lot of the regulars at this club expect extras or hanging out OTC so I haven't been able to hang onto one for more than a few weeks. A lot of girls without regulars are suffering like me, at least the clean ones.

^ This is the reason I never dealt with regulars. When I first started dancing, I had one & he started getting creepy & wanting me to hang out with him OTC & that was a NO GO for me. I like the regulars that come in for dances/VIPs only then leave. I don't give them my number EVER only the nights I'm there. I'm more of a tourist trap kind of gal I charm the tourists, take their $$$ & bounce.

I worked there for a few days like a year ago and yea theres too many girls at that club all the time, if it wasn't for that you could bank at the club but that ruins it or hurts it badly. Also, management is on a power trip, they require every girl to go in who is hired there if they wanna keep there job on certain events like Super Bowl, yea thats like 300 girls… and it takes at least an hour to check out at night, u didn't miss out on a thing.lbs. I heard hb had a really high tip out too, when I went there they started to explain it to me and it sounded like id only get paid on like 50 percent of my earnings plus I saw lots of ragity cars in the lot so I declined that club but Ive heard good things from others.
But to answer your op, too many girls could be it, drugs and I would bet management is a big problem too if its the club Im thinking your at (based on your posts) cause they are too thirsty in my opinion and thats not good business, they worry about a penny there, literally... I think I used to work at your club like a year ago…LOL

thanks ava$ that makes me feel better. <3 More girls are starting to quit at my club cause it's been so slow so maybe it'll get better for me. At least the managers and employees are nice and laid back. I can't deal with asshole managers. That's the only reason I've quit other clubs where I was making good $..just can't stand being treated like a child and it sounds like that's what they do at Polekatz. Still confused as to why I was rejected this time though...all I can think is it must be my boobs. Oh well.

The snowbirds and tourists have all headed south for the winter and won't be coming back until April. You better head south or go to North Dakota/South Dakota where its good year round.

I'm sorry girl. I'm really curious about their hiring standards because I saw a lot of out of shape girls when I was there. I noticed the dancer to customer ratio was way off when I was there in the summer so I didn't feel too bad about not getting hired. I hope things pick back up at your club, I'm going to be auditioning around Chicagoland soon and if I find anything that seems like good money, I'll let you know.
