    Thumbs up NO Sugar NO Alcohol December Challenge!

    I know I'm a couple days late, but one of my friends posted this on FB and I am doing it with her. I am just about down to my pre-pregnancy weight give or take 5lbs but I know I would look much leaner and feel better if I cut out drinking and eating/drinking sugary crap. I still drink too often at work and I have an ice cream addiction that's holding me back. It's going to be tough but I'm going for it. The only exceptions we made are coffee sweeteners because neither of us can stomach black coffee. Other than that, NO ice cream, cookies, donuts, candy, cake, pie, Little Debbie snacks, milkshakes, chocolate milk, juice or SODA-you get the idea. Also NO alcohol of any kind. Who's with me?

    I applaud you for that! Those are all of my favorite foods! I am allergic to alcohol, but I'm pretty sure if I wasn't I would drink too much too.
    If I didn't have custies who paid me to eat fattening foods, I would do it

    I am in! I have been doing this since October and it has gotten easy. If you could figure out how to stop using the creamer, you could cure your sugar addiction quick! Maybe Stevia? I've been a slave to sugar my whole life and it feels so good to have kicked the habit!

    i've been trying to do this for a few months now. the alcohol was easy to give up but i love my ice cream! i substituted yogurt for it, i love my "siggi's" icelandic organic thick yogurt and haven't had a scoop of ice cream since.
    i also do stevia and raw honey (and sometimes agave syrup) instead of processed sugar.

    Wooo! That's awesome and that gives me hope. I have managed to quit the flavored creamers and I just use halfnhalf now, but I still put a bit of sugar in my coffee too. I'll have to try stevia. I tried some other artificial sweetener before and it was just nasty. Can't remember what it was though

    Is that kind low sugar? I switched to yogurt at one point, then read the ingredients and there was just as much sugar in the damn yogurt as the ice cream.

    the siggi's one has more protein than sugar..think it has like 4 grams of sugar. its not prefect, but i figure its better than ben and jerry's!

    I just changed white sugar on coconut sugar.it has minerals and vitamins, not a big loss by the way. I just realised how bad it is for me.

    I'm in!! My weakness is sugary creamer too. And soda/energy drinks. I woke up 4 hours ago and already had a large latte and two 16 oz sugar-free Redbulls. But I'm trying to get rid of excess stomach fat, and I know sugar is BAD BAD (especially artificial) when it comes to stomach fat.

    Exactly me as well. Worst month for that challenge lol! I have no problems giving up sugar but if you don't want me to drink for a month I definitely will be at home. Probably eating lol.

    I'm down to cut out alcohol. It gives me hangovers anyway.

    I can cut back white processed sugar in favor of stevia, raw sugar, or agave.

    Day 6 and I'm still going..yes it's super difficult at Christmas with all the sweets around. I turn down dozens of drinks every night at work.. I've just started telling customers that I'm underage (and they believe me! Haha) Last night someone brought Christmas cookies into the DR and I was like "[email protected]!!!1!!!" but I didn't eat them! No ice cream or soda for 6 days either. So far I feel a little more energetic and a little less bloated especially in the morning (since I usually drink and snack at night.) I am drinking way more water instead of red bulls at night and I can work a longer with less fatigue. Keep it up ladies

    Spend a month with my husband. I can't recall the last time we had sugar in the house or ate pizza, or anything of the sort. It keeps me in line (he's a personal trainer) but damn sometimes I miss ice cream.

    I have tried to cut out sugar and found it to be in everything...like everything. If it wasn't then there was artificial sweeter that I cannot stomach. Without living like a rabbit, I am not sure how to do this.

    ^ i've been noticing that too since i read this thread. i thought cutting out all candies, milk chocolates, pastries, cakes, pies, sodas, energy drinks, etc was good enough..but now i find it in my bitter dark chocolate, my yogurt, my organic bread..unless you go straight paleo its impossible to avoid it. not to mention juices and fruit are chock full of sugars even though they are natural. so right now i'm just continuing to cut out the obvious candy junk food and enjoy the rest

    I applaud all of you who are doing this. It is indeed a huge challenge! I'm not down for doing it, but I do eat pretty clean anyway. (Right now I'm eating steamed organic cauliflower florets in pesto with a bit of feta).

    Stevia is a like a staple of my diet. I also make my own shakes and juices. This really helps me cut down on sugar.

    Oh, are you guys excluding fruits too?? There is no way I could be down for this challenge. I do try to eat fruit that's lower in sugar, but I can't give it up

    Regular yogurt has LOTS of sugar..all of the brands. The one brand that doesn't is Siggi's & I don't see it in a lot of places - some Targets & Whole Foods have it. I have gotten used to the plain, & now I have a hard time getting that too. I mix fruit in there.

    That will be the lactose sugar which naturally occurs in dairy.

    I already know I wont have any alcohol or sugar this month, i haven't for multiple years. Paleo and low fructose (meaning under 10grams of sugar per day from fruit/dairy).

    No natural sweetners like honey, agave etc because they act the same way as refined sugars in terms of converting to fat and damage to organs.
