Default changing sleeping position after breast augmentation?

So pre BA I was a sidesleeper-- for 25 years I have fallen asleep on my right side and woken up on my left or right side. This has never changed no matter the size of bed or who I was sleeping with.

After my BA I had to sleep on my back for 6 weeks and it was really difficult at first, but now it seems like I have adapted to it. The only problem is, it reeeally hurts my back to sleep on it, to the point that I wake up in so much pain sometimes that my boyfriend has to help me roll over and get up. I have noticed pain in my back and some in my implants. I always fall asleep on my side but my boyfriend says I move onto my back during the night and whenever he wakes up I'm always on my back.

I don't know how to force myself to get back to side sleeping? I have asked him to move me over if he notices but I can't have him getting up in the night to check on me when he has to work early. Has anyone else had this issue post-BA?

I slept on my stomache my whole life before my boobs. Now my back. It took me forever to get use to it but it hurts any other way. You may not realize it but you may be turning to your back because your side is no longer comfortable. I too sometimes wake with pain in my boobs/ back. Get a memory foam pad for the bed. It will help tremendously. I travel with one or I wouldn't be able to sleep at all.

i have this exact same problem! its SO painful in the morning its like i'm crippled. it gets terrifying sometimes when i'm half asleep. but its actually better for you to sleep on your back, so i second the memory foam thing and maybe pillows put strategic places. if i have some under my legs then my back won't hurt as much

After my BA I started sleeping on my back with my arms crossed behind my head. I used to always sleep on my side before my surgery.

I literally sleep with 2 pillows placed normally and one placed lengthwise to support my back so it's not under stress
I just stack up my boobs like cordwood, place a pillow against my back, and sleep on my side !!! It hurt at first, but I quickly got used to it. It actually turned out that tossing and turning in my sleep was the real cause of my back pain, and the pillow against my back discouraged this.

Those huge memory foam wedge pillows were a game changer for me. And their "sex pillow" reputation isn't off the mark, lol. Hard to find cases though.

Thanks ladies. It's so frustrating to wake up in pain every morning!

I decided to do an experiment, last night I slept completely on my back with pillows at my feet and woke up in low/moderate pain. Tonight I'm going to try sleeping on my side with a pillow next to me and ask my bf to keep rolling me over and see what pain level is, at least that way I can figure out which position is better.

I've been looking at the memory foam things online and they look great, just super expensive cause we have such a huge bed.

Side sleeper. Post BA I sleep with a small cushion between my breasts, my back always hurts but I'm trying to address that, through some rehab PT for anterior pelvic tilt and yoga.
I wake up and flip over to my other side. X

Do you have target there? I get a twin one for 79.00. I think you can find larger ones at big lots, marshalls, tjmaxx. I don't know if they have those stores there?

^no, not that I know of but would have to ask my boyfriend-- what kind do you have? I found a really cheap one on Argos but had terrible reviews. The ones that had decent reviews were 300+.

do you just have the mattress topper? I can find that for around $100, it just doesn't have great reviews.

I think the brand I have is Canopy. It's 2 inch. It has to be able to fit in my suite case for travel. I use to get them at target( it was their own brand but now they don't make them and the new ones too hard. I can't remember where i got my last one but the one I had before it I took right back it was hard as a rock.

    Audrey,
Did you put the pillows under your feet? You should put them under your knees. It will flatten your spine while laying on your back. What part of your back hurts when you wake up?

^yeah I put them under my knees.

Sleeping on my side makes my boobs hurt, but sleeping on my back makes my back hurt. It's my upper back.

Try a thinner pillow or no pillow. Also you can try going further up on the pillow so your shoulders are supported also. There are also pillows with a trough that runs from end to end. They support your next but let you head lay closer to flat. I sleep with a CPAP and have the same problem sometimes.

I had to stop sleeping with a pillow about 4 years after sleeping on my back. I had neck, upper back( scalpula pain) constantly. The memory foam pad is enough but sometimes when I travel I take one of those fuzzy blankets and make it really thin and put it under my neck because every bed it different. I find if it's too hard or way too soft( you sink in) is when I hurt.
