Hey, ladies. So I work as a dancer in Portland, Oregon. Here, we have a law that dancers under 21 can not walk the floor of 21+clubs. We are only allowed on stage, a designated minors stage, which most clubs don't have, and the dressing room. Is it the same in other states? Most people from other places seem to not know about this law.

No... In Alabama, we do everything other girls do except drink. We don't have Xs on our hands or wrist bands saying what dancer is a minor. At the more relaxed clubs, minors can drink. That's a strange law, I wouldn't even wanna dance.

I worked in several states and never heard of this. Michigan, Ohio, Massachusetts, S Carolina, N Carolina, Tennessee, W Virginia, Maryland, Texas, Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Indiana, New Jersey, Connecticut....I'm sure I'm missing some. lol, I traveled a lot! The only regulations I heard of though, were about drinking age.

Same, I've worked in a few different states and I have not seen this. Either they can work in nude no alcohol clubs/juice bars or they have to wear a wristband so they can't get served alcohol.

Not here either... at 18, you can work in a full nude/no alcohol club. At 19, you can work in a topless/alcohol club. No minor designations to wear or anything.

nope, never heard of that. i've worked in New hampshire, mass, maine, and rhode island so must be a west coast thing? if you are under 21 you just can't drink, but there are tons of 18-20 years old in the clubs hustling away. that's a ridiculous rule, why even bother if you are under 21 doesn't seem worth it.

^^^ there's also a factor in states like New York where, although it is technically legal for an under 21 dancer to work in an alcohol strip club, the clubowners simply refuse to hire under 21 dancers. I've been told that the justification for this is to A. eliminate the need for 'enforcement' by club staff, and B. eliminate having to explain to customers why they can't buy alcoholic drinks for certain dancers.
