Question POLL/anonymous vote. How's your income this time of year?

I don't want to ask individually for obvious reasons, so I'm making this a poll post - but I really am wondering how much is average for other dancers at this time of year. Basically what do you consider a good, realistically average pull for a shift right now?

I'm not sure if I'm getting greedy - like if I'm actually doing well, or if I could be making more and I need to find a better club.

If this isn't appropriate let me know and I'll remove it.

I'm not sure how to respond because last year I was pulling a solid 5-800 in November-December

This season has sucked balls where I'm hoping for a $200 night. Last Saturday I made $420 and was grateful for that after a string of non profit nights. A lot of my friends working in Queens and Brooklyn have been struggling and make the same comparison to last year. My only friends doing alright are in the city but even they mentioned a slight slowdown.

I wish more people would respond to this thread. I'm gonna vote what I'm making now.

I'm actually doing ok this season, summer was way harder on me for some reason. It's slow as fuck, but I've been managing to make money in spite of it.

I still feel like I should be making $500 a night or something though, and I'm not.

This time last year I was absolutely banking! I actually did really well over winter this year (in Aus, so June-August) but for some reason my club decided to hire a mass of new girls and up the nighty cap on girls so now we're all making half of what we were a year ago and customers are being intimidated away

Im sure lots of people have read this post. But not many want to post there earnings whether good or bad. And its a lot easier to write about when you do well vs. When you do bad. Some of the posters on here only talk about there good nights and try to make it seem they bank all the time no matter what and that they are just the supreme dancer that makes all the $$. Yea those posters are annoying.

For me I did much better in the summer because I was traveling to big $ club. Now I'm just working at home. Some days it is really good, some days are good and then some are awful. Today was awful @ my club in AZ. I haven't worked for 10 days before that. Last time I worked was good. It's a little up and down it just depends. Overall its ok.

It's been all over the place since Thanksgiving for me....One week I'll make $1500 and the next $600 (3 shifts.) My worst week I only made $300 and that was the week right after Thanksgiving I think. This winter has been weird.

With a few notable exceptions, this time of year typically leaves potential club customers 'short' of money, due to ...

    - heavy additional expenses for Christmas presents
    - onset of heating bills
    - taxes due on 'before the end of the year' sales of investments

Additionally, between Thanksgiving and New Years, guys with families are likely to have fewer opportunities to hit the clubs even if they have plenty of money available to spend.

I'll add that the notable exceptions are usually related to clubs in cities with a large 'financial industry' presence, since bankers, brokers etc. typically receive LARGE Christmas bonuses right about now !!!

I hate holidays!!! Lol I had to say it...

Especially thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I hate how everything slows don and nothing is as usual, both in my dancing and regular career.

I think the only people that like holidays are employees, which I have never really been.

Now on to the topic: Melonie you are right, they have so many expenses. On the other hand I think it frees up married men's time, because the women are so caught up in the prep. And they guys might go to the club after holiday parties.

I've had a very unpredictable fall/holiday season too. The last couple years were solidly awesome, this year my earnings have been all over the place.

One thing I've noticed about the holiday season is that while the weekends might slow down, weeknights get a lot busier.

Ya, I couldn't respond to the poll because my money is so random. One packed Saturday I went home with like $90. Thursdays I go in to 20 customers and make double what I had made the whole week before. I have always taken October through March off (until this year) because I hate driving.

I keep good records of my nights and earnings, so at the end of each week, and then month, I add up my money and divide it by number of shifts to see how much I make on average per night.

I stay around the same average month after month, so even though I may have one terrible night and one good night and it all seems random each night, the pattern is clearly established for me that 20 shifts a month = roughly X amount of dollars in that month.

^ I do the same. It is very up and down at my club and it seems to come in weekly doses instead of nightly. The first week of December was so bad, I think I made $300 in 3 shifts... took like 5 days off... then this week I paid all my bills for the month and had a good chunk of Christmas money left. It really depends on how many girls come in, and I guess they all decided to get a jump on Christmas money the first week of December, which ended up fucking everyone up.

However it does average out, so the bad shifts get made up for. I have to do by hourly because I tend to work either 3 hour short shifts or "long" 6-7 hour ones.
