    Default Vanilla (bridal) interview, helppp!

I love everything having to do with weddings, and I saw an opening for a bridal consultant. Any tips for when they ask about my work experience? I jotted camming down on my resume as "Self employed customer service representative" and I'm sure she'll ask lots of questions about it. I don't want to stumble or be awkward. I'm sure they'll ask what I'm doing customer service for. Haha. So I dunno what to say about that.
I hate lying but I've been camming for so long that I didn't want to leave a huge chunk out of my resume.

    Helllpppp.

Rule#1 of BS resume writing: If you don't know enough about it to sound convincing when called in for an interview, don't put it on there.
You could try to spin this as an Independent Consultant with a strong background in Project Management. Emphasize your attention to detail, problem solving, and determination for client satisfaction.

    /sigh. Yeah.
I panicked. With family, I usually go with telling them that big sites get people like me (us! lol) to do their customer service for them, and we get paid by the call. But I feel like she'll ask about what company it is?

I'm also a doula, so I could swing it that way, too. Oii I dunno, my interview is on Tuesday and I'm not sure what to say if she presses for info. I feel so dumb, I didn't even think they'd call me for an interview!

I interviewed for bridal sales, not sure if it's the same..I do conventions, demos etc so I have that..they are very sales oriented..if you don't make quota, you won't stay working, that's what I was told
    Good Luck.

I always say I work freelance in photography and video editing. Technically it's true. lol My first online paychecks came from a site that had the word photography in their corporation name. So I figured I was covered if they looked me up somehow through taxes, they would see that name. (Honestly don't know what they can and can't do) Do your pay deposits come from anything with a 'techy' style name? Maybe you can say you do computer programming?

Tell them you worked with some foreign customer service outsourcer managing and culturizing campaigns or projects for different kinds of companies (you can insert doula/health or other experience here). Bullshit them saying you did something like Judy Dench did in that movie where she travels to India --basically she trains Indian call-center employees to make them more familiar/culturised with the English people.
I also work as a translator and there are huge projects that work like that. There is a consultant who coordinates the material, the training, the literature, the employees, etc. in order to translate and adapt big corporate projects, advertising campaigns, etc.

There is a lot of room for you to insert pertinent experience --organizing events, coordinating wardrobes, dunno, without you having to reveal any big names, because as you were working for a foreign 'outsourcer', you cannot disclose the clients' names.

This biggest factors of this include describing what type of things you do on a daily basis for your job. Or what type of problems occurred and how did you react. They always seem to be on my interview list. They want to know how you resolve customer service type scenarios because they are so relevant in this day in age.

I used to do this, and they asked me a lot of basic retail questions, like did I know how to use a cash register, credit card machine, if I could lift a good amount of weight since the dresses are heavy. Smile a lot and be friendly. They want someone who is a people person, tell them you learn quick if you don't know how to do something. Truly you don't have to have any amazing skills since the tasks are pretty easy. Oh dress nice. Slacks or other dress pants, no jeans. Cover tattoos as best you can, no heavy make up. For me the interview was just like an interview for a shop in the mall or a grocery store. But good luck and remember to smile! I'd say that is number one

It went well. They did offer me the job, but they were SUPER unprofessional and borderline sexist the entire time. It was odd. Reminded me why I'd rather just cam than deal with BS.
But the interview went well on my end haha.
    Thank you ladies <3

Ohh yeah, ew indeed. I told them (WOMEN, btw) that they were being way unprofessional and I'd make sure no one I knew supported them. They sat there and talked shit about women in general...?! it was weird.
anyway i forgot to mention I turned down the job immediately, during the interview. i refuse to work for women who hate women. not cool. Stripperweb has introduced me to WAY too many beautiful women that want to watch other women succeed. You guys have spoiled me. I won't deal with that BS anymore.
