    Default Branding: Camming+Pole Dancer Names

So I'm working towards becoming a professional pole dancer. When I first became a webcam model, I made up a name, and later decided "hey this fits perfectly for my pole dancer persona" and decided to use it as my pole stage name.

I actually have no problem with people knowing I have a history in camming/sex work, but I don't want that to be the main thing they see when they google my name-I want it be first and foremost associated with my pole work.

The other thing is, I don't really want my male camming clients to check my schedule online for safety issues-I figure it'd be pretty easy for them to see my touring and performance dates and venues, etc. I'm still relatively new in both industries, so it's working for the moment but it seems like things could get complicated down the road.

I'm a bit torn because on the one hand, I've worked so hard to build my camming clientele base on SM and Twitter. I have been on hiatus for about 3 months and planning to go back soon, so I'm wondering if it's worth it to just start over with a completely different identity and start from scratch.

I also already have 2 aliases so far, so I wonder if creating another one would just be a lot of names. I'm also considering escorting, so then that would presumably be yet another name and website. Feeling a bit stuck! Any suggestions?

    Don't. Keep it separate.

My friend's pole instructor can't compete with most pole dancing competitions because of his history with porn. I know they want their image to be more sport then adult, so there are reasons behind that. Just a head's up.

Can you not combine one or more of the adult-industry aliases & then just create a separate one for the professional pole stuff? Audritwo raises an important point -- the professional-pole world is pretty stuck on themselves when it comes to any association outside of their little righteous bubble (bitter much? ) Sad but true. If your main alias was just as a run-of-the-mill, not-very-famous stripper it might be different, but you built up your previous brand(s) well & it's kinda become a double-edged sword now that you want to branch out into vanilla poling.

Thanks, guys. My brand of pole dancing is actually stripper-style, so it's not really "vanilla"...but my work and services as a cam model and pole dancer will be very, very different, and suited to different audiences (erotic art lovers/fitness geeks vs. horny dudes) so i didn't want to mix them up.

It would be one thing if I worked as a stripper and combined that name with my pole dancing name...but very different as a cam model.

I will look into changing my name and re-creating my image. Not too big of a leap-after all, I have been gone for a while so what the hey :-)
