Default Is Portland always like this?

Why is it that you almost need to have regulars to make anything in Portland on any given night??? I've danced in various cities & small towns and have noticed that in Portland it seems as though the clubs patrons are mostly regulars that come in every single night & only tip "their" girl / girls'. It was hard as hell to sell any dances to anyone there that wasn't a regular that expected me to waste my time talking to them all night or giving out my number for a dance or stage money. Is this normal for this city in particular or was I just at the wrong clubs? Nevertheless, that ain't my hustle & I won't bend for any customer expecting such out of me. It seemed as though they never bought VIPs & you were lucky to score a dance out of them (to which I had to overcharge) in order to walk with something. I'm not a regulars kinda gal & won't ever be. I'm a hit & run kinda gal~

    Any thoughts?

I think it just depends on where you work . Some places downtown have alot of come and go traffic, tourists and such. Some of the clubs are located in neighborhoods, and do have alot of the same regulars, due to them either living in the area or going through there to get home on any given day.
Then you have your regulars in the trendy club, they somehow think they are a part of this " scene" and yea they can be a pain in the butt.

Portland has quite a bit to choose from, just shop around and see what works for you. Maby you can play the new girl card a few nights in a row and make a buck that way

I hate that! That's why I try to work in clubs that have a fair amount of out of town guys. I work one club that these loser locals come every night. They never get drinks and just massage the girls or whatever. I don't know why clubs stopped the 2-3 drink min. Try to find one by the airport or something. Or is there a place close by more businessmen , travelers?

I give up bc I don't have enough money to keep trying my luck up here between cab fares everywhere plus lodgings costs. Not to mention it's xmas in a couple of days which isn't going to do me any favors. I'm going home to my other club & just stay for now. If only my car hadn't died on me I could've stayed & tried more places but without it, I'm spending more than I have on cab fares which is eating up my profits so far :/

San Francisco may be a good option. Green Tortoise hostel is $32-$35 and next to all the clubs ( same block ). Try a Portland hostel close to a club to prevent needing a cab at all?

I think the problem with Portland is the fact that they have too many damn clubs and not enough people to patronize all of them. That's one of those places you really have to "shop around" for a place where you can make real money.
Portland has more strip clubs per capita tgan anywhere. Everyone guesses tampa. No Portland Oregon.

I did but since the commute was hell I stopped going. I never tried it on the weekend tho & try staying at the green tortoise hostel until I get my car back. I ran into guys wanting either drugs or extras & got pissed off pretty quick & threw in the towel to try PDX again. I can still go back there bc I didn't burn a bridge so that's a plus at least.

Michelle, I did better in Tampa than I ever did in PDX for some strange reason or another. Psh I'd love to try Florida during the snow bird season for once, prob better than out west.
