I was recently offered a job in an adult movie, and I was wondering if anyone else out there has ever had a similar offer or actually done an adult movie? What are the pros and cons? Thank you!

First of all, where did the offer come from? Hopefully not from a club customer or coworker/mgr/etc. 9/10 times offers like that are either cons or outright hooks for prostitution.

I was guest dancing in Miami, and a guy who said he worked for Bang Brothers(?) was the one who approached me. He had a business card and it looked legit. He referred me to his casting agent, but I've yet to call.

Ask Sam38g. She has been in porn a long time and knows her shit.
I think all of us on this board would urge you to tread carefully though:
- Dancing doesn't have to bite you in the ass later on; unless someone walks into your club, or a friend outs you, nobody ever has to know.
- Porn, however, is FOREVER; easily accessed on the internet; pirated and copied to multiple tube sites; etc. How many men watch porn? Oh yeah, probably 90% of them, so the odds of someone seeing you are pretty high. There's the risk of STDs. There's also the creep factor; I know a girl that did ONE porn video, and there was a thread on a message board about her; these guys were so obsessed with finding out who she was that one of them found her Facebook and real name, city, all that.
IMO, I think the cons of porn FAR outweigh the pros. I hear the money isn't very good anymore if you go with a company and that they will also chew you up and spit you out and you won't have any sort of "career" after the first 6 months. Again, ask Sam.
"People jack off with the left hand and point with the right."
"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

That dr you met awhile ago ITC also seemed legit. Remember, the one who turned out to be hiding a wife & kids?
Any wanker can go get 'business cards' printed up & have a few mates on-hand to act as 'casting agents' & any other 'business staff'. Msg Sam38g if you like, but there has also been a fair bit of discussion on this forum lately abt how badly the porn industry is deteriorating, at least for the women entering it.
Honestly, if you're considering a 'sex for $$$' angle, escorting might be the better way to go. Provided you don't get collared for prostitution, you have a much better chance of maintaining discretion(no video evidence), you can be completely in charge of your own screening (read: safety) if you go independent, & you have much more room to decide what rates you'll charge for what acts.
I've worked for bangbros about 5 years ago when I visited Miami. If you really want to do porn, you don't need a card from some guy you meet in a strip club. Just go to the website, scroll to the bottom and hit model jobs. At least when you go directly through the website, you'll actually get in contact with the company...Not someone who may or may not be associated with bangbros.
It's been about 4 years since I've done porn, so I can't say anything about current conditions. When I worked it was $800 for a boy/girl scene and takes anywhere between 4-8hrs. Granted that's including hair, make-up, paper work, waiting around...The actual sex portion takes about 2 hours.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

^ When you click on the link on the bangbros site be sure to scan in a copy of the business card the rando gave you, I'm sure they would be very interested in following up on someone who claims to represent them; if it is genuine then no harm done.

I did films many years ago when I was young and dumb. I also didn't really have any online forum to ask for advice or I would have made better decisions. The company I did films for wasn't really a well known company. More along the lines a company that was local/regional.
Even girls who do super well and become the "well known porn stars" still sometimes regret it years later. I actually got into it because A, needed money and B, I always had a dream of becoming the next Jenna Jameson.
But it's soo watered down with girls these days and if you're not smart you won't last long at all. You have to be careful not to jump into certain scenes too early. I made that mistake. My first film I did was an interracial 3 some with 2 men so right there I jumped into something I probably should have waited to to.
I did about 10 films over all but I always had to go a little further just to get work.
Do I regret it? Not too much because I've stayed in the business through escorting and it's been so long most of the films were on VHS lol.
But I think you def need to be careful depending on what you want to do with your life. If you think you're going to do anything job wise or even family wise in the future that could be hurt by porn I'd probably stay away from it.

I did a film with a legit company about 6months into dancing (I was desperate for money at the time, and it was a solo video so I thought that was safer than a sex scene with a guy or girl). During filming I didn't see the harm, I thought I was being smart by getting quick cash. Once they mailed me a copy of the video I felt reality sink in. Seeing myself on film and knowing anybody can see it made me sick to my stomach. Now being out of the business entirely, I wish I never did it. How do I know customers/staff/other mgrs at my real job haven't seen it, or God forbid if they do and call me out?
There's a lot of things I did in my dancing career I regret. Being on film tops the list, as you can never get it back and it'll be out in the universe forever. It's a boundary I shouldnt have broken, no matter what the pay was.
