MANY MEN WANTED TO LAY ME DOWN, BUT FEW WANTED TO LIFT ME UP
-Eartha Kitt

I am not surprised about this, but at the same time I find hard to believe that it was solely because someone said "Merry Christmas" to him. After all, outside of a radio website, this news only appeared on sites like "Infowars" and "Right Wing news", so I'd say there's more than simply overreacting towards "Merry Christmas".

I say Merry Christmas, not happy holidays and don't care for political correctness. This sounds far fetched.

Of course I would be offended because I am not insulting his views. Likewise I wouldn't be offended if he replied Happy Hanukkah.

Exactly, who gets pissed off when someone says happy Hanukkah? Or happy Kwanzaa? I remember working with a Jewish guy and laughing over the numerous Christmas greetings,. 'Yeah, not a big holiday around my house, up there with Veterans Day'
It is surprising that most large companies don't have the 'happy holidays' PC policy in place.

The right wing news outlets latch on to this to prove the alleged "War on Christmas." Before O'Reilly and company went off the deep end, no one cared whether you said "Merry Christmas" or 'Happy Holidays." In a nation of 300 million people, you can find someone who will say anything. Stories like these feed the Right Wing outrage machine. In turn, some people who would never give it a second thought become offended with "Merry Christmas," because that feeds the Left Wing Outrage Machine.
Partisan blindness is bipartisan.
