    Mind Blowing Acid Reflux

Anyone dealing w/this? What do you do for it?
I have it, (it runs in the fam.)..I was shocked just now that it came up, no pun. I usually try to drink selzer water, I just took a couple of Tums, not sure those helped.

Oop, I see I've posted about this before still wondering thoughhttps://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...Reflux-who-has

Prilosec is a common one, I occasionally take prevacid. They're not quick fixes, but I have a chronic issue with it and it works great.

For a quick fix you could try a small teaspoon of baking soda (or maybe even less than that) and a cup of warm water. Don't put too much baking soda, don't put a heaping teaspoon or anything like that because it can also act as a laxative.

I might have it. I went to a GI and had an endoscopy done. He said I had a hernia in my throat (still don't know how that happened) but I go back for a swallow test next week.

Yup, baking soda and warm water is a classic cure that works. I told my pregnant friend about it and she said it worked miracles for her.

I had a persistent cough ( for a year ) and was diagnosed with AR - I was prescribed Protonics and given a list of the foods that create it - acidic foods and caffeine are my biggest down falls - tomato sauce - sweet tea and cokes -- raise the head of your bed or sleep propped up on pillows - sleep on your left side - dont eat 3 hours before bedtime- It can lead to esophageal cancer if ignored

I have bad AR and majority of the time I have silent reflux, no heartburn. I have the cough, it sometimes gets into my laryx and I stop breathing (vocal cords constrict to protect itself, cuts off airway). Terrible stuff. But yeah, address it and manage it, esophageal cancer is serious.

The reason you have AR is because your stomach doesn't produce enough acid. Not enough acid in the stomach causes incomplete disgestion leaving some foods to ferment and give off gas which carries undigested food up the esophagus...thus the heartburn and pain.

I have been proscribed prilosec but it's not a long term solution.

Things that have helped me - walking daily, at least 30 minutes, cut down on nightshade foods, No: caffiene, sugar, HFCS, all WHEAT and GRAINS - I just started Keto, and know of people on Keto/Paleo diets that have cured AR by elimating wheat, gluten, processed foods, sugar, and stayed really minimal dairy and it just went away.

And honestly Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar really, really helps. It puts the acid back into your stomach. 2tbsps in 8oz water 3 times a day. It really works, try it.
