Hey,
I've done some searching for the answer to this question but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If I do cam work while I'm receiving unemployment benefits, I'm probably going to have trouble aren't I? Thanks for the advices!

yes...not worth it.

you can still receive unemployment benefits, you jut have to report your weekly income from caming. It will cut down on what you receive, but generally they have a minimum dollar amount before they do that.
You'll get fined and sent to prison.
NOT WORTH IT.
^^this
not sure what state you're in but most have similar rules. after a certain level of earnings your UI benefits will be clawed back dollar for dollar, but that's not a bad thing; you're building a revenue base that will ensure that you never again will have to rely on unemployment
don't try to conceal your camming income though. we work online so our revenue is traceable and you'll only earn a heap of trouble (and quite likely a criminal record) if you choose that route
I've never known anyone that went to jail over this but they will make you pay back every single penny.

it depends on where you are located US and Canada unemployment and other government benefits vary and have different rules of earning income.
if you are in Canada it is a lot easier to keep getting your benefits and camming.

If you're a cam girl, you're technically not unemployed. As a webcamer you are the employer and the employee of your own company. Stop receiving benefits.![]()

Here are some threads I've found about unemployment/disability. They should have some info that might help.

You will get in trouble *IF* you don't report the camming income. The government wants you to improve your financial situation and get off unemployment. They won't penalize you for trying to make money, but they will penalize you for lying about it.
They understand that if you get a job that is only a few hours a week, or if you're just starting a self-employment venture, sometimes you don't make enough to survive. They don't want to take away all your unemployment if that's the case. If they did, people on unemployment would wait until their benefits ran out completely before starting a business or getting a part time job that might lead to something better. No one wants that - they want you to start getting back on your feet as soon as possible.
Contact your unemployment office right away. Let them know that you've started working as a self-employed contractor (do NOT tell that that you have a job/employment, because you don't), and give them an honest account of your camming income. Also be sure to tell the worker that your income is going to fluctuate from one week to the next. Let them do the math and decide whether you can keep your unemployment, or if it will be reduced or stopped. If your benefits are reduced/stopped, talk to the worker and find out if you have any options if your camming income goes down in the future. If you haven't completely run out of unemployment benefits, you might be able to have them restarted or increased if something happens to your camming income.
