And if so, is it reliable? I see that most Satellite ISP's offer a maximum traffic load of 35 GB/month, it seems way too low for daily HD video streaming, what do you girls think? Thank you for an answer! Good luck!

My in-laws have satellite internet and their maximum upload speed is like .8 on a good day. I think they pay for 2 mbps up but unless you're in close proximity of the modem or wired in, unlikely that you'll see more than 1.5. But that's all the experience I have with satellite internet. I can never cam when I go over there.

Ive had the pleasure of using satellite a few times, depending on where in the world you are, you will have 3 options; choppy, lagging or slow. I personally prefer choppy but it does fuck with your sound.
You will not want to do free chat with satellite, its gonna cost you just to sit there . Paid appointments or uploading filmed clips would work better but if you want work shifts with consent streaming save yourself the stress.

To think about it satellite is like AOL, 2004.
Which I think is dial-up, if you've never had better you'll like it but if you have you will be very displeased.

It won't be good for camming at all. I'd avoid it if you have any other options.

I almost did not buy this house when the cable guys didn't get back to me in time to say they could run me some internet out here, so yeahhhhhh that's my answer.

I live out in the sticks, and the only internet available is satellite. And it sucks. I have internet with two different satellite companies. One has a cap of 20gb with an upload speed of maybe 3 for about $100/month that I use ONLY for work, and one for everyone in the house to use with no data cap that has an upload speed of around .5 for $50/mo. I pretty much gave up on big box sites and went just indy because free chat ate through my data, and the one without the cap just wasn't fast enough for a decent quality feed. Satellite isn't very reliable, either, especially if the weather is bad, and even if it isn't, it will still cut out sometimes for no reason. I've been begging the cable companies to run lines out here for years, but they won't do it because we're too far out. I'd do anything to get decent hard wired internet out here.
