    Default Transition into an owner

I am considering a career change and have thought about owning an escort agency or webcam model studio. Owning a strip club seems like a lot of work and overhead fees, a male dominated industry, and strip clubs are going downhill in this area. so that leaves owning an escort agency or a webcam model studio. Both of which seems like can be mostly be run from home. I like the idea of supporting and helping other adult industry workers and want to play a bigger role that what I'm at now.

Just wondering do any of you have a business where you oversee strippers, webcam models, escorts? How was the transition into this area?

Are you in the US or anywhere that prostitution is illegal? Owning an escort agency can make you a prime target for LE, so personally I'd be more inclined to run a webcam studio.

Yes the U.S. I wasn't planning on starting an agency in the city I live but in a metro nearby city. I know law enforcement lumps prostitues and escorting into the same realm but I was planning on getting some consulting to make sure I run it legally.

Perhaps webcam studio would be easier to start up as there would be less overhead and legal hassle.

Whatever you choose you should probably make a business plan and do more research on it. to see if they are really worth investing in.

If you are in north america why would webcam models work in your studio. I use to run a studio back in 2003 when the industry was new and there was money to be made in it. now the industry has changed where starting as a webcam model can be easy for anyone who has a high speed internet and decent computer and usb webcam at they can work from home all by themselves.

escort agencies depending on where you are is a huge legal risk plus also if your starting an agency in a city where existing agencies are running they might not want you around.

Well I guess I am confusing virtual studio with webmaster/affiliate. I thought they were the same but looks like some differences. I thought virtual studios provide some type of support to webcam models like how agencies provide the support for escorts and I also thought the studio profit comes from the company not the models earnings.

I read a thread where they are steering models away from joining with virtual studios because they provide no support yet take a percentage of model earnings.

Soooo I guess I'll stick with webmaster/affiliate side for now. The profit does not come from models money but the affiliate company so this should be a win/win for both sides.

Studios accounts on webcam sites do not care if you are building or virtual studio when you sign up on a studio you are paid the same 35% or what the site percentage is and then you pay out the models.

I don't have a high opinion of 'madams' but I'll try to put my bias aside and tell you what I would expect of one to work for their agency.

As an independent escort I kept 100% of my income and made my own schedule-- if I'm going to give that up there needs to some major pluses, mainly you need to have major connections and be willing to do all my booking and above all, get my work. When I considered going with an agency it was only because they had access to a higher-end clientele that I couldn't reach by putting out ads and could promise me repeat business. If you don't have something to offer your girls they aren''t going to be interested in handing over 30%. There are tons of agencies out there so you have to figure out some way to be marketable. Also take into account the legal risks.

I don't know anything about web-camming so can't give you any advice there.

    Hey Miss a.p1600,

There are tons of things you can do overall. I would suggest some alternatives to owning either an escort agency or webcam studio. These alternatives include owning an go-go dance troupe or mobile strip agencies. I knew several mobile strip agency owners who made tons of money in Central California by having girls and guys strip at parties and events. In addition, there are several go-go dance troupes that make killings in Northern California. Since most virtual webcam studios are scams, I agree with Minnie on that subject since webcam modeling has changed. Since prostitution is illegal in the USA, I would advised against owning an escort agency in the states.

Here is something on the stripper business opportunity:
