Photos and contracts are normal right?
Also have you worked for any clubs in Melbourne Australia? What were your experiences? Any clubs that you would recommend?
Thank you!

Not an Aussie dancer, but the work contract is part of the package. Read EVERYTHING b4 signing, ask questions abt anything that seems unclear or even strikes you as 'dicey'. Run a search here for more discussions on contracts.
But racy photos for mgmt? I would call that a red flag, esp since they were refusing to explain anything abt the club beforehand.

I'm not in Australia, but I had a manager ask for full body topless front and back photos as my "audition" because I was coming in from out of town and wanted to skip the in-club stage audition.
I've signed contracts before, that's becoming more and more common for clubs nowadays.
Does this happen to be at Goldfingers in Melbourne? I started there about a month ago and was also pretty taken aback by the topless pic - haha!
The paperwork seemed pretty straightforward, and the management were very clear that you're not locked into a contract.
I haven't worked at any other clubs, but can recommend GF so farthe management and girls are really sweet.

My friend just switched from spearmint rhino to men's gallery and she's having a whale of a time

I've worked at about half of the clubs in Melbourne cbd and have never had to sign a contact but all the ones I've worked at make you fill in a application form with your experience and physical stats (hair colour, weight, height etc). They usually also photocopy your drivers license and like Olive said some take a underwear/topless photo which they show to management before hiring you.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Photos and contracts are very normal in Australia. Especially in large clubs in Melbourne, they take a photo of you at the interview, incase you need to be identified for any reason during your employment.
As a dancer who has mainly worked in Melbourne and Adelaide for the past 8 years. I would highly recommend Men's Gallery, Goldfingers, Bar 20, Kittens, Spearmint Rhino or Dreams in Melbourne, and The Palace, Crazy Horse, or The Firm in Adelaide. I have worked in all of these clubs, and in all of them you can make $1000-$1500 on a Friday or Saturday night, providing that you hustle well and look good.
Any further questions just ask![]()

The reason they do it is to identify people on security camera footage if a crime is committed by a dancer or employee. For example if a dancer steals a wallet off a customer in a lap dance (not that this would happen very often) and then management check the camera footage to see what happened. They sometimes need the photo taken at the time of the interview, to identify who it is on security camera footage. It's just an extra security measure for the big clubs, although it does feel weird to have your photo taken in underwear or topless!
