    Default Recent info on France?

    Hi everyone

I've deciced rather spontaneously to go live in France for six months, with the main reason being that I'm hoping to remember all the French I learned in school and to leave fluent-ish. I'm planning on signing up for a full on immersion course for the first month, and then I was planning on working. Hopefully somewhere in the south but really anywhere is fine. (probably going to try and get a "day" job as well, for the experience... i'll have savings and wont be counting on dancing to keep me afloat, but the extra income will be nice so my bank doesnt take such a hard hit)
I've just read the negative review on pink paradise, but i was wondering if there is any current info on other clubs? Diamond Dolls and The best Dancers agency have a few french clubs on their site, anyone have any luck with these agencies? I heard that there was a good club in Nance (spelling?... about 45 min out of paris) that pays for stages and you wait backstage the whole time, if a custie wants a dance with you he goes and tells the DJ and they come tell you ( a girl i used to dance with used to work there, cant remember the name though....)

Any info will do, I know it's all a bit shit in EU right now, but that's alright... carpe diem and all that good stuff

Same as newb I know someone who worked in Paris and she said it was absolute shit. I haven't heard anything about the south of France. You will really have to work your butt off in the immersion program though because from what I remember from traveling down there they don't speak much English and have one thick accent! I've been studying French for almost a decade now and had a hard time picking up on their words.

Yeah I'm not planning on sticking around Paris for too long.
Thanks for the tip about Grenoble, there are a few agencies who have it on their list so maybe I'll start off there

I worked in Paris and I know another fellow Aussie (not on here) who worked in Paris at Penthouse. They said they made less than what i made in Pink Paradise. Paris is bad however you will make slightly more money if you are absolutely fluent in conversational French. What I've learned is that most French men would rather an escort.

When I worked there there were girls from Lille and Toulouse who travelled back and fourth every few weeks to work as it was shit in their cities.

As for south of france from what I've heard from other girls, from customers, from my own reading and from my own experience travelling there it seems a waste of time to dance. As for Grenoble I know there is a club there but that is a very small city I don't see how you could make decent money there. There are clubs in Cannes and Nice I have heard mixed stories, they are usually only open during summer too.

As for getting a day job I imagine it will be hard if you are American/Non-EU. The legislation in France is very much in favour of the employee so employers are reluctant to hire as they have to pay taxes and film out forms, France is very bureaucratic. Nanny work is easy to get though not very consistent (in Paris anyway).

France has a minimum wage of about 12 euro or there-abouts, personal taxes there are high and you are in charge of them fully.

If I were you I'd just save up for the course and living expenses and not need to dance, maybe do it once a week and only as another way to practice speaking french (though you may be speaking french to other dancers instead of customers as i found my paris club to be usually very quiet), not as a way to make money.

Good luck and keep me posted please!

I have no advice on working in France, BUT! If, like you say, what you really want is to remember the French you learned in school, here are a few things that have helped me immensely more than some of the classes I've taken (I can read very nearly fluently and converse really well with actual French people):

    French Cosmo: http://www.cosmopolitan.fr

    Podcasts: onethinginafrenchday.podbean.com
    learnfrenchbypodcast.com
    dailyfrenchpod.com

    Blogs: http://www.thecherryblossomgirl.com
    http://www.leblogdebetty.com (choose the French version)

Also, search on YouTube for makeup reviews/tutorials by French girls. This is rather OT if you have your heart set on dancing, but otherwise bon courage!

I never would have thought of those ideas, thanks kaninchen

Sexsells, I am getting a year working visa. I don't think it will be easy but not impossible to get a day job. Thanks for the info on south of France. There is a review here that says pink paradise was a nightmare, how did you find it?

I went to work there twice in total for like 8 weeks or so. It was shit but i liked being in paris, when i go back ill try another club.

The only ones who made "half decent" (but by my standards still not decent for 5-6 days of work a week) money were the ones getting help from the waiters who then asked for tips of the girls; those who spoke fluent french; those with that club as their home club or those who were also escorts outside of work.

You can find a job as a volunteer on a farm, they will not charge for living and they will feed you.

Hi, I just replied to another thread on here concerning France but I thought I would do yours as well. Yes girls are right - Paris is shit. The best one (for me) was pink paradise but only because I had a very wealthy man fall for me and come in 3 or 4 times a week and give me lots of CASH tips.. That's the only way to make money there - get as much CASH as possible secretly, because the club takes almost 70% of lapdances.
I also worked in Nice in the south of France called Goddess (previously Red Devil) for 6 weeks. Honestly - the money is no-where near what you can make in other places but I was happy to be in the beautiful south of France and making a little extra cash on the side. The club was very small, pretty quiet but only 5 - 10 girls working there in total so no competition. It was nice to be in such a relaxed club - not hustling all night waiting for dances. When a customer came in, dances were so easy to get. So I was working 4 - 5 nights a week making between 700 - 1100 euro A WEEK! But as I said, it was extra spending money for my holiday and the club provided free accomodation in an apartment not far from the club and the beach.
I am heading back over in 3 weeks and this time I will try a different club called Leboa. I have heard good and bad reviews about this club so I have decided to go and see for myself and if it's not good, I will go back to Goddess where I know is at least safe and friendly.
    I hope this helps xx

I've just worked in pink paradise :s. Were you at the new club? Have you tried Secret Square? Do you speak any french?

Is Nice good any time or only during summer seasons or when there's cannes/monaco related events?
Where else have you worked in Europe?

You can PM if you'd rather answer privately.

Thats ok, I'm glad to share my experiences.. Yes I was at the new P.Paradise club and while I was there, they opened a Stringfellows in the old club down the road. It was very quiet when I was there because it was literally opening week but might pick up this year. I haven't worked at Secret Square.
I've only worked in South of France over summer period but I have heard that it's veeerrryyy quiet the rest of the year and judging by the customers who came in - almost all tourists on holiday, I believe it. I was working with a girl there who was from Lyon and she said that it was quite good there, although I am not sure which club she said that she was working at.
SEXSELLS: ill pm you about other clubs I have worked at in Europe, I don't want to go on too long and hijack this whole thread lol.

Hey Tiffany. Thanks for the updates on France! Could you forward me info on other European clubs as well?

I am moving to Greece in July and looking for opportunities to make some cash on the side anywhere in Europe.

    Thanks
