Ha. Have a slow night and it'll feel very " real " very fast.
Some nights are fun. Some aren't.

Pimps and trafficking issues are real here in the USA, but if it happens, it usually starts before they enter the club, not after. That's a problem of wealth inequality, class background- more common in poor neighborhoods, not as visible in high-end clubs (in my experience).
As for it being too good to be true… A lot of things get really, really tedious- and painful- especially after so much repetition. It gets old REALLY QUICKLY. Some of the things we complain about aren't things we face once in a while, they're things we face EVERY shift, sometimes multiple times a shift. A bartender at a certain club might have to deal with harassment or getting grabbed at on certain annoying occasions, while a dancer at the same club might be dealing with it every single time she tries to make any money, with a NICE encounter being the rare exception.
The club isn't paying you to work. Before you make any money of your own, you're obligated to pay house fee once you walk in the door, and you have to go find that money. And most of the time, it's not "fun."
You know the feeling of being at a party with people you don't click with at all? Or smiling at someone you don't actually like? Awkward and gross, like, "Get me TF outta here" right? Imagine doing it multiple times per night, multiple times a week. NOT fun. But doable, if I'm making enough money- Key word here is "enough." There's no way I'd take this job at minimum wage!

I will say one thing though, when I started at the ripe tender age of 18 I was a nervous wreck BUT made amazing money so in the end it was soo worth it to me. I think some days it may seem to good to be true , but to be completely fair most if not all of us dancers have to put up with ALOT of shit to where it leads us to ask ourselves at the end of the bad nights "Is it really worth it?" I love making my own work week schedule & taking off on a whim if I want, I also love knowing I can work just about anywhere I want in the US. I have def learned way more from this job & being in this industry than I prob would've at a vanilla job.

Judging by all of your posts, I'm just going to go ahead and say that stripping probably isn't for you.

You're not there to have fun, you're there to make your customers feel like they're having fun.
thank you for all your comments and your wisdomappreciate it, I'm still young and dumb but now am soo much more comfortable now
