Default is this hairstyle too ethnic for white/mixed clubs?

i am a black dancer in socal and I've abandoned black clubs for the time being. id like to try a few white and mixed clubs near me but i currently have waist length kinky twists in my hair. here is a pic of what they look like

thats not me just an example of what my hair looks like. i know i have to be more on point when i go in to audition so my question is should i ditch the twists and rock a traditional straight weave? I'm in good shape and everything will be on point when i apply (nails, outfit, makeup, etc)

That style is beautiful in real life. I love twists and braids as they are the best protective style. But in the strip club I would only wear styles customers are used to seeing. Straight, big curls, or big waves for me.

Nobody in the club I work has twists or braids so that style would be going into uncharted territory.

Maybe test it out and see how it works for you if your manager allows.

one of my girlfriend's hair is like this and it looks beautiful on her. She doesn't dance any more but she still gets non stop attention from men when we go out together. If you like it, may as well try it and see what happens. There's another girl I work with who rocks a full on natural afro and she makes $$

I danced at a mostly white club with green dreadlocks in my hair before. Its all in how you market yourself. I say keep the twist but make sure your makeup and nails are on point with the etiquette of the clubs general style. Sometimes being the odd ball is just the magic you need to steal the show. A kiss and a wink with sophisticated grace will always compliment and amplify any hair style. The men who come to the show want to see more than just boring old stright white girl weave for a dance.

I'm in that area and I think this style is beautiful and would be very attention-grabbing! As for hirability ... it depends on the club, but it may be too much for some managers. Maybe a more traditional style to get your foot in the door, and then bring back the twists. I can't recall ever working with a black girl who didn't have white girl-looking hair, unfortunately.

If it's a big deal to change it, maybe you could visit potential clubs first to see how many black dancers are there, and if they're whitewashed or not. Good luck!

let me preface this by saying that i am not black. but i have worked for some very racist club owners whose idea of the "perfect stripper" was scrawny, caucasion, blond, with bolt-ons, and the closest you come to that the better your chances are..there's a lot or racism in this industry so if you can, i would go with straight or big waves.

I'll preface by saying strip clubs can be terribly racist places and some of the reactions I've seen from customers, staff, and other dancers make me ashamed to be white at times. That said, in the clubs you've listed, it will have a hand in the decision to hire or not, as well as on your income. It's unfair and I'm sorry.

Im very pro black which sometimes makes it hard for me to deal in this industry. Therefore, the only time I try to ever assimilate is while im working. The more white identified I look, the more I make. Now I have seen girls rock this look and make bread (on the east coast) but not all can pull it off, so starting off, get some long flowy hair. Once your foot is in the door you can try braids, twists, etc and see how you do.

Personally, I love it. I would say "Rock it!" and see how you do. Maybe just try it out for one night. If it doesn't work out, opt for another style. I'm like ExoticBeauty, I'm very pro-black and love the ethnic styles. But it's tricky rocking this in the club. But hey, anything is possible! The more exposure ethnic beauty can get, the better!!!

    Wow, that's an amazing hairstyle!

If you are worried about it (and it's not going to be too damaging on your hair/expensive to change it) then maybe it's best to play it safe to insure you get hired. A straight weave would look hot and it's more mainstream and "stripper-y". Or, you can always try it and change it if it hurts your job chances or income like some other's have mentioned.

I think it's cute and why not try it? I don't get why managers won't hire all kinds of types of girls, isn't that what custy's want?

But what does it mean when someone says they are very "pro black"?? I don't get it. And calling "white girl weave" boring, plain etc. is pretty racist IMO.

I love that hair... It's gorgeous. Unfortunately there's a lot of racism in the industry and generally the more "generic stripper" you look during an audition, the more likely you are to get hired. That said, if girls in your area are rocking hair like yours in mixed clubs, it may be just fine. Also, I think standing out once you get hired is always a good plan, so maybe do a weave for the audition and then switch to your current hair if you think your managers will be cool with it.

Pro-black, meaning: being an advocate for the rights, equality, and progression of blacks. The media doesn't often portray ethnic beauty or otherwise traits not inherent to the typical "white, blue-eyed blonde" beauty trend. It's important to expose different types of beauty and sex appeal in our culture. This includes the braided hair style the OP posted. It's more "exotic" in the strip club world, not typical. But this could work to your advantage by standing out.

Either way, do what makes you the most money. Every single stripper, regardless of race, has to enhance herself or fake something in order to "stripperfy" herself, whether it's through makeup, hair extensions/wigs, fake eyelashes, fake tan, plastic surgery, breast implants, fake persona, embellished stories or white lies, etc, etc. We all must do what makes us the most money. So be it.

I think it might be hard to get hired with that hair because sc managers are dicks a lot of the time but I have definitely seen girls making money with that type of hair style.

I think it's unique and beautiful but too ethnic for white clubs. Get some 26" Valencia rose hair, and you'll have the best hair in any club, mixed OR white.
