    Default Facebook...getting old?

I haven't really been an active user in some time. I kinda started over since I've gotten some people out of my life finally. But now I realized some old friends aren't even really on. Seems like instagram is the thing now :x

I guess I'm late to the party. Is instagram the new hotness?

I've never really understood instagram, but it does seem to be gaining in popularity - whatever it is.

I don't know if it's necessarily that facebook is becoming "old news" as it is that people are purposely disconnecting themselves from it. I don't know many people who haven't "deleted" their facebook accounts at one point or another. People get so connected, constantly, that they eventually get overwhelmed by it and have to take a self-imposed break. Or they feel the need to differentiate themselves by getting back to the "real world" instead of being like everyone else on facebook.

I don't think it's so much that people genuinely dislike facebook these days, or that something new has even replaced it, but now that's it's become so big, the "new thing" is to be a "rebel" and not have one. I see a lot of my more introverted friends go on "facebook breaks" moreso - I think it's like the new way to "hermit up" when you don't want to deal with people anymore. No on these days will notice if you just aren't texting them or showing up to the bar. But everyone notices when you say "fuck you all!" and delete your facebook! I think the constant social connection is just getting a little overwhelming for people.

Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

I Facebook often but not long ago got stung. I found out some people I friended were taking things I said and telling others. These particular people are ones I see often in person and have known for years (didn't meet them online at all). I used to mention a crush I have on a friend and several of them used that to do some horrible things to me and him (they know him and many have an ongoing fight with him).

Facebook is how I connect with distant family members, stalk people's info (lol) and it's got everything the other sites have. Status updates (twitter) and pics (insta)

Maybe it's just my area but facebook seems to be the most popular. Instagram is lame. Sorry, but I don't care about your starbucks coffee or the sunset you saw on vacation. lol

I don't even have a facebook anymore and I do not miss it. The fact that every website I try to sign up for has a "log in with facebook" option not only annoys me, it unnerves me to no end. It's too public for my tastes, and the only way I can ever see myself getting it back is to create my own fanpage.

That and all of the "like dis if" posts, the incessant "i'm sad, pay attention to me" status updates, and the awful "news" sharing... it's old. It's outdated. It's the crusty bin where social media now goes to masturbate to your beach vacation photos. Once my grandma tried to add me, I knew it was over.

I use Facebook to keep in touch with old friends and family members in different states/countries, but once my parents signed up it was time to go. Instagram is amazing and I'm obsessed with it. Twitter is still cool, but I mostly use it to creep on guys I like tbh.

I never liked facebook from the get go and I still don't.. I'd still be on myspace if it wasn't crappy now. I loved being able to customize your page. Instagram sucks, I also think twitter sucks. I pretty much only go on tumblr or pinterest or the random fashion blog

yeah i heard that the kids don't use FB anymore. i think you can only get instagram if you have a smartphone though.
Tumblr is so fun! I'm addicted.

Twitter is usually boring, but it is pretty amazing that politicians and celebrities get in live catfights on it.
