I don't know the name, but I used to do that move when I danced in Virginia.
Seeing this video made me cry a bit, for I tried to dance at an Onxy club in 2013 and got rejected for being "too white".

its just a "cheek flex" haha not sure what the technical name is but that's what she's doing, one of my favorite moves! takes a lot of muscle control





Oooh, thank you! "Cheek flex" actually returns results on YouTube and stuff, so I guess that's enough of a name. Do you find that this is simply a practice-makes-perfect move? Or have you found that there are specific workouts that help with it?

I do it too. You flex the muscle in your arse check. Too help you figure out exactly where it is press a finger into about the middle upper part of a cheek and flex/squeeze the muscle against the finger- it helps. Then you learn to flex alternate cheeks, at the same time, make your butt dance to the rhythm. Once you get it you never lose it.

I only knew what it was from working out my ass so much at the gym. ^^She's right, once you learn it, its easy.




Yeah I'm pretty sure anyone can do this! Your ass is a big muscle and just like you can flex any other muscle you can flex each cheek. And even if you don't have a big one if you sit in the position she's in and flex each cheek your ass looks bigger and the move looks more impressive. I do it in the mirror to music a lot when I'm bored lol if you just try it a couple times you should get it down pretty easily.




One other thing is that it's easier to do for most people with your knees on the floor, at least when you're starting. There's a certain breaking point when my knees are farther off the ground where my muscles are like, "Nah sorry." Not sure if this makes sense, it was weird trying to figure out how to word it.
On another note, I feel bad for those other dancers.

A girl I used to work with could do this with her butt to a really fast beat, it was awesome and I have been practicing ever since. Don't quite have it yet, but I am so close.

I've been practicing this lately like my rent money depends on it. I'm so impressed at how quickly I'm getting the hang of it. I can't work the pole to save my life, but my booty got tricks for days now. lol
That's pretty much the only booty move I do! It's pretty easy when you're in the position she's in, or in a straddle split.

Wish I had it when I was learning, instead I spend hours at home looking over my shoulder in front of a mirror, doing the most absurd, spastic movements, forcing a friend to watch me and tell me when I was doing it right, non stripper roommates occasionally walking by.. ugh the shame.
The video is totally right that you feel it more in your hip than in your ass. Don't squeeze your glutes! You won't be able to do the booty flex, and for a lot of us bigger assed women, it bunches up all your cellulite.

Yesss! I hate the fact that you can see cellulite whenever your making your butt cheeks bounce like that XD makes me want to try and work it off!!




kraize, I just meant that if you don't follow the instructions in SkyeSabrina's video and use your glutes instead of the other muscle (forget already) you're more likely to see cellulite. I get a little bit when I use the method in the video, but I just tried using my glutes in front of a mirror, and sure it 'popped,' but there was cellulite where there was none before. I should have quoted the link but was too lazy.





I used to do that. I called it the divide and conquer. It takes some practice to build speed, I was nowhere near as fast as the girl in the video.
