    Dizzy Treatment for severe Pmdd???

I've noticed that over the last couple of years my pms is way worse than most other women I know. I've done my research on pmdd & realize that I've got a case of it pretty bad. Between the irratiblility, crazy mood swings, extreme fatigue & lethargy it's almost too unbearable to handle anymore. I'm going to the doctor this upcoming week in hopes of getting prescribed either an antidepressant or xanax to help me quell this shit. What types of treatment have you ladies had for PMDD???

Not sure about PMDD, but my wife used to suffer severe migraine headaches with her cycle. She found that taking Estrovent, a herbal estrogen suppliment pretty much put a stop to the headaches.

    Edited to add...

You may be slightly Bi-polar, and merely need a mild mood stabilizer. I have also seen women put on a lightly hormone based birthcontrol to mitigate PMS symptoms.

I have that too, along w/ depression and ADHD. It was awful during my teen years, and got even worse, as [I] got older. About 3 years ago (age 30), I got prescribed prozac (worked w/in a week for me - I mean totally changed my world). I take it all month, and sometimes up dose as period approaches (I have MDD too). If you don't suffer from general/ major depression too, they will probably prescribe you an SSRI like Prozac, and tell you to take it 2 weeks of every month, before period time. It totally works for me. Also, I noticed mine is way worse in Fall/ Winter, due to lower light levels (which effect hormone and neurotransmitter systems, which then affect sex drive and mood), so that may be useful info too, for anyone else out there, looking for support.

Personally I tried all of the diet and exercise recommendations, and they did not make much of a big difference (other than a calcium magnesium supplement, which did help a bit), but the SSRI made a huge impact. Hope you feel better! I know PMDD is horrible, and can literally destroy relationships, jobs, and totally change a person's normal personality. You are not alone

    Yes, I have this.

I take Seasonique birth control pills and it has made me a completely different person. It seriously changed my life. It regulates your hormones so that you don't have the ups and downs, and you only have 4 periods per year on it. You don't even have to have those periods either, you can just skip the break week and start a new week of full pills, although the break week does have a small dose of hormones to help keep things steady.

I wanted to stay away from anti depressants because they make me feel SOOOO cloudy and just "out there". So for me, this totally worked like magic. Might want to ask your doctor about it, mine told me that it's used a lot for PMDD.
    xoxo ~ Sarah

I feel like I may have pmdd especially since I get so irritated real easy here lately. Plus I think I have seasonal affective disorder too. Ugh!

I've been trying to get more sunlight more exercise and more healthy foods but maybe a pharmaceutical as a last resort.

Hope you get some relief soon

Thanks babe <3 yea i think the seasonal affective disorder thing could be doing it also. I've been sooo erratic with my moods here lately, I have been under waay too much stress due to things in my personal life :/ I've also been feeling extremely lethargic even almost 2 weeks after my period wtf?!
