Lightbulb Try This On - New Hustle

Has anyone ever worked for a female owned and operated club? Why don't people on here who are making BANK join forces and open a new spot, managed by women?

The goal would be to provide a great money making environment while skipping the physical and mental-health hazards of working with shady male management who have no business looking out for young women's well being. The percentage going to management should be smaller, more money in the pockets of the dancers.

I'm not talking about a butch kind of place that's more of a political statement than it is a reliable source of hot entertainment for wealthy straight guys. This is about top tier talent working with driven management and everyone making lots of money.

I know there are people reading this with the passion for business, stripping connections and experience, and liquid assets to make it happen.

Los Angeles would be a great market. Time for you to grab some of that cash you are making in Vegas and take control in the mainland. Despite the prevalence of extras and jackass managers currently, LA is a firmly lefty demo and the premise would draw individuals and groups with the desire for something that is NOT the current norm. You would get mainstream press that the competition could only dream about. You could kick their ass.

i have worked for a female owner and it was the WORST experience and i would never do that again....i don't think she had ever been a dancer as it seemed she didn't know much about how the industry usually worked....they collected all our money for dances and only paid us at the end of the night, so every girl could see how much every other girl made. she was a total bitch about being on time and making us work 5 days a week every week. when i didn't drive 45 mins to come to work in a level 2 snow emergency i was fired. oh, and we weren't allowed to EAT our whole shift even tho they had a kitchen and served great food to custies.

I don't think managers or owners are in this industry to care about the well being of the girls, they are in it for the money, just like we are. I have worked for both men and women and they have been the same - they still want your tip out at the end of the night, and they don't kick out guys who are not spending money on the girls.

I wouldn't be interested because I don't want to be in the strip club industry my entire life. I have plans outside of the club and I think running one as my career would drive me insane. If the club was run by some girls on here it might be ideal because these girls aren't like the ones you usually run into at a club. If it were run by strippers I've run into over the years at different clubs I would NOT want to work there. MANY of the girls I have worked with are shady and/or psycho and are not people I would want to work for at all, lol.

DiCarlo's in Albany just opened with all female ownership and management, at least one is a former dancer. I'll update when I hear more about how it's going.

Nailed it. My club has a female owner/manager. I have to admit, it is a better environment than some of the places I've seen talked about on here. But I think that is more about the staff being very protective of the dancers. At the end of the night they are still going to take their cut, and I'm fine with it. I don't want to deal with the BS that a club has to deal with. I like making my money and going home .

I'll admit that I prefer to work for men than women (owners, managers etc. Female's in this industry can be absolute nightmares. However, I would LOVE to own/run a club (in theory).

I worked in a club that had a female manager, and she was really awesome! She was a former dancer and always treated me with respect. I would've loved to have kept working at that club, but I left when I found a club where I made better money.

Personally, while I'd love to work in a female-staffed and -owned club, I don't think you can categorize good management by gender. I've worked with as many dirtbag ladies as I have dirtbag men both in and out of this industry. Club staff can have integrity and a sincere interest in dancer wellbeing regardless of whether they're male or female.

I've worked for female club owners, and it was usually worse than the males. At one club the owner would cock block big spenders so that she could get his business personally (unprofessional!). Another club with female management, the owner would "fine" the dancers for any little thing (chipped nail polish at the END of a shift) to line her own pockets. Another female owner fired me when she discovered I was doing webcam work on my days off. I guess she wanted exclusive rights to all of my performances or some such bullshit.

Good management does not have a gender bias.

I have friends who worked at one club here that is female owned/operated...and they took more of their money than any other club. Not saying that this is true for all of them, but I definitely agree that it's not about gender.

My club right now is all male managers, and they are AWESOME and and tip out/house fees are fair, if we don't make money they understand, let us call off with no penalty, ect...

So yeah, while having a manager who has worked as a female dancer MAY make them see it more our way, it doesn't necessarily mean it will.

eww! This sounds like the club I've been working in for the last year. I'm ready to quit but I need a backup first. I seriously hate female mngrs. Mine tries to tell the new girls that start there what to wear & how to wear their hair, etc. Blame us all the time if we don't make money bc we aren't there on time. Ugh everyone that has worked for her all say the same shit, that they hate her 7 can't stand working for her.

I'm sure there's male managers like this too but I've noticed these are really common traits with the housemoms and female managers.
My exact experience with female manager/owner. All up my ass. She would pull me aside on the floor if I was talking to a customer "for too long" or try to push me on customers she thought would like me (never worked.) She fines for everything imaginable and wouldn't even let me look at my phone 'without permission' then took a huge cut of my earnings the first night. I lasted a weekend got the hell out. No thanks. I'd rather have a laid back male manager that just takes the house fee and otherwise leaves me alone.

The only female owner or manager I enjoyed working for was Debbie Matthews who owns Shotgun Willie's in Denver. She was awesome!
