A machete and a pet alligator are a pretty good deterrent. I used to live 4 minutes away from my old club. I dared anyone to follow me home.
If alligators aren't legal in your area get a concealed carry permit. But don't take your gun in the club with you, of course.

Lol!!! Just a lazy fat cat :/

One time when I worked in Cardiff (Wales) two customers were waiting outside for us (it was a weekday so there was only about 5 of us working). When they were in the club they were trying to take pictures and stuff. We asked the bouncer for help and he walked with us to the nearest Burger King where we pretended to go inside (and the guys followed us into the BK) but then we left and the bouncer stayed at the entrance.
Another time I was getting a ride home from one of the girls and she was parked in a parking garage about 2 minutes walk from the club and this guy started following us and wanted to get in the elevator with us and stuff and we were thoroughly creeped out. We just ran back to the club and the bouncer walked with us back to the garage so the guy would leave us alone.

I had a guy follow me to the wawa near my work while I was putting gas. I told him if he followed me home I'd chloroform him, chain him in my basement and feed him piece by piece to my pet. (Ask Starling. She's seen my basement. I could hide 20 bodies down there and nobody would be none the wiser)

He asked me to marry him. -_-

If you work in a club where valet doesn't bring it to the door or walk you to it ALWAYS spend an extra five dollars on a bouncer willing to walk you to your car! Make him carry your stuff too and if you made good money give him 10! I always did and I'd ask them to wait until i was inside with doors locked and car running.
If you're followed while driving call your states highway patrol (in Florida its *FHP, easy to remember but remember the code for your state) and tell them what is going on and they can direct you to the nearest police station or to a deputy nearby as well as take info down on the person/vehicle following you. Never drive home if you suspect someone is following you and never be afraid to call the cops.
Happy stripping. Watch out for pimps lol

Depending on your area you could also consider parking elsewhere & taking a cab to your car after work. I did this when I worked in DC bc parking near work was such a bitch, plus I lived in VA at the time. Parked in the Mall area, walked thru Chinatown to the club, & had a cab take me back after, parking a couple blks away from my car so the cabbie wouldn't see it. All the gov't buildings + museums have external security along that street so there was always sm1 in shouting distance & even at nite, that was a relatively safe area to walk three blocks alone.

I've been doing this job since 1998, and I've never been followed home, even when using public transportation or my bicycle to get home from the club. So long as you don't mess with your customers heads to make money, you should be fine. It's the girls that lie to their customers and pretend they are interested in them romantically, that things get ugly.

Lol. Yes, it's pretty dark down there...I don't even know what the rest of it looks like.
The only time I've been seriously followed around by a stalker was from someone I knew, outside of the club, a crazy ex. I was always afraid of this happening from the club too. I just try to be constantly aware of my surroundings and when I used to take public transport back home I would constantly check to see if anyone is walking behind me. Now when I drive I usually check to see if a car is following me.
I'll tip the bouncer extra to walk me out if my car is parked somewhere further away.
There was one case where I was walking to the train and someone started to follow me and a friend, but not from the club and I was legitimately scared. I flagged down a cab right away. There were other times it happened, also from random people probably not from the club, and I was in a bad mood and started to act like a crazy person and yelling random things and that actually worked and they stopped following me.

Also...if you get followed in your car which I consider a lot, do NOT go home! It's hard when you're scared and don't know what to do when the shock of someone following you is there, but definitely go to a public place or a police state.
I read a lot of creeper stories online and that is a mistake I've seen people do against their better judgement...the shock of being followed usually scared them and they'd end up driving home not knowing what to do.
In 2.5 years of dancing I've only been "followed" home once. I drove to a police station, they stopped following, the end. It's important to remember that no one deserves to be harassed or stalked, and while as strippers we may encounter more crazy weirdos than your average lady, the major risk factor is just being female. I mean, I've been followed several times and dealt with all manners of terrifying creepiness while minding my own business as a civilian.
Sexual harassment isn't just for strippers. Clear heels aren't some magical beacon that sends out alert signals to every creeper within a 50 mile radius. You'll be fine.

One time and I managed to lose him. I wasn't paying attention when I got to my car (walked by a bouncer)and neither of us noticed a car. I drove and he followed me. I got on the Dan Ryan (I don't recommend this unless you are city smart as this is a fast expressway in downtown Chicago)and lost him. After that I took steps to prevent this. For one, have the bouncer walk you to your car and look around to see if any car is around that shouldn't be. If there is, call the cops or ask the guy to leave. A few times we had to wait until they left before we could. Another idea is to have someone pick you up. I often had a male friend pick me up after work.
However, I do have a creepy following story, only it never happened to me. Another dancer I knew had this guy obsessed with her. She left work and she didn't know he was following. Long story short he followed her to her apartment and she saw him crawl through her window! Her boyfriend got him and called the cops. Who knows what may have happened if he didn't catch this guy or wasn't there?
never been followed home. i've had people find out my real name and come to the club and ask me or add me on facebook. it was given out by girls i work with, who i thought i was very close to. one even got too drunk, slipped up and said my town. they're all snakes. don't share personal deets with the girls, don't add them on facebook and keep that life completely separate.

This was before I started dancing but I was driving home one time and noticed a car with guys I didn't know in it who were trying to get my attention. I ignored them and kept driving home and saw that they were following me. I drove really fast down the neighborhood streets and turned my garage door on as I was coming down my road and slipped in before I saw them coming after me and closed the door. I ran to a window to see if they really were following me and I saw their car driving really slowly down the street stopping and going like they were checking the cars. It was actually a really really scary experience and I had no clue what to do at the time because that never happened to me before and my adrenaline was racing. If that happened today I would probably stick to a normal speed and either drive to a police station or call 911 and ask them to send someone to my house. Before that happened though it had NEVER crossed my mind as a possibility so I never thought to have a plan ready in case it did. They could have easily seen which house was mine and then who knows what would've happened.
So my point is.. have a plan! When you're in the moment and your adrenaline is going you aren't always thinking clearly and can make some dumb mistakes. I always think "that would never happen to me" but thats what makes me end up not knowing what to do in the situation.
Yeah some thirsty azz customer tried to follow me home.
He didn't even try to play it off I saw his ass bright and clear through my rear view.
This is why I never leave the lot when I see customers. I wish we had a separate exit from customers so they couldn't do this.

It's like Professor Moody in Harry Potter; "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!"
Have a bouncer walk you out and make sure no customers leave directly after you, be mindful of headlights following you, and know where the closest brightly lit gas station/Walmart/police station is. Never go home if you fear you're being followed. If you drive a distinctive car, park around back away from customers so they don't start putting together whose car it is.
I've never been followed and I dare anyone to try it; a) I live a solid 40 miles from my club, b) I have 2 large dogs, both of which are aggressive towards questionable people, and c) my bf is a master marksman with a rifle and I'm quite handy with a revolver.. and our policy is "Shoot first, ask questions later." Gotta love living in a redneck Stand Your Ground Law state!
Edit to add: A few more things: First, always make sure your doors are locked when you go into the club; you don't want someone to hop into your back seat and hide out. Second, you can sometimes get a bouncer to check under your car (yes, dudes are nuts and have been known to hide under your car and slither out as you're getting situated and either hop in or hold you up through the window). Third, this applies mostly in a non-SC situation since I highly doubt you'd ever walk out without a bouncer, but if a van has parked next to your driver door, be careful getting in... guys can be hiding in the van and reach out to grab you as your back is turned.
I sound fucking paranoid, but there is no way I am being taken out by some dickweed at a strip club.

I've been harassed and followed at bars in my town while I'm out with friends, and never at the strip club. They clear the parking lot every night and make sure we are walked out to our cars/ know our drivers. I honestly feel more creeped out going home after a night of drinking at regular bars.

One of the few funny "I got followed" stories- some guys recognized me in traffic on the highway (I had a red Camaro- easy to spot.) They were yelling and waving. I just shrugged it off (there was construction going on at night so if they had the stupid idea to try to come up to my car, I could have jumped out and gotten help.) It was just amusing- where was that excitement from the dudes when I was on stage? This is when I was 22 years old btw...young and hot.

Fortunately all the places I've worked at had an escort walk the girls to the car or there was a mandatory valet for all dancers. I was followed in my car once though. I just turned my car around and headed back towards the club and when I pulled into the club the guy just drove away. If I had known where a police station was, I would have driven there instead.

That's no guarantee. I was followed by a customer. I took a cab to the Ferry (NYC) and the guy got out and actually said "Oh I thought you were going home!" like I had tricked him or something! I said some choice words and pointed out the police presence at the terminal and that his license was now on tape as they have video surveillance of the area. He left. Always take precautions.
