    Travel Clubs in Ireland?

I'll be moving out to Ireland at the end of March, and figured I'd ask around on here to see if there's anywhere worth working. I've tried to do some research online, but can find VERY little about the clubs ... I'm coming from Vegas, so I can't imagine I'd have a problem getting hired most places.

Has anyone worked anywhere worth a mention, either to try or avoid? And can anyone give me any sort of idea of what to expect? Mine will be a second income (FINALLY!!) as I expect it to be more in line with UK earning potential than Vegas, but I'd like to know what I'm getting myself into.

Any and all answers would be super appreciated! Thanks!!

I worked in ireland a couple of times. I think most clubs take 50% of what you make. I don't think money is very good there now. Whare are you gonna be living?

Thankyou thankyou!!! I'm glad it's not as dire as I'd been hearing ... although this 50% thing is insanity to me. I'll probably check out Barclay's (I'd rather hustle for a VIP than dances, although their website says their "1 on 1 private dances" are 35 EUR, which I definitely won't argue with.

Are you still in Ireland, or are you dancing elsewhere?

Also, Britchick - we'll be staying with friends in Cork, but we're looking at settling in either Cork or the Dublin area. Any recommendations?

Hey! I met a girl recently who worked in Cork. She recommended Secrets there. She said a lot of the customers at The Great Escape came in just for drinking and watching the show, while Secrets had more money making potential.

I don't think so. Pretty sure you have to have EU citizenship
Cailaris (however you spell it) told me the money there isn't that great anyway

Generally speaking it's not that good money, you could have the occasional brilliant night but it's not consistent at all. You're way more likely to have nights with very little money than nights with great money.

You would need a visa that allows you to work there, I think the clubs are pretty strict about dancers having work permits.

35 euro seems pretty cheap for a nude though, in most places (not sure about Barclays since I haven't been there) the cheapest dance is a topless and you can usually get them to buy a nude one for a slightly higher price. In Emporium for example the cheapest one was a 30 euro topless but almost no one sold those and would instead hustle customers for the 50 euro nude dance. I also met a girl who used to dance in Barclays who would not go nude for less than 80 but she sometimes lost money on that when the crowd was cheap.

No I'm not in Ireland at the moment, when I was in Dublin I wanted to try all the clubs so I kind of regret not trying Barclays, Valentinos as well but especially Barclays since I'd heard it had a bit more potential.
I've worked nude before, both in Boston and Vegas ($30, we got $15, and $20, keep all respectively) so I'd be a-ok with it being even more for full nude. I'm still a bit shocked (in a good way!) at how no-contact the clubs seem in the UK and Ireland ... no arguments with that. When I get there I'll probably look around, so hopefully I'll have a better handle on where the money is and/or whether it's even worth working. As I said, Barclay's sounds right up my alley (although I'm sure I'll miss that Vegas potential.)

@Michele11, I don't think so - I'm an American, but I'll be working under EU spouse laws, and unless you qualify for an ancestry visa I don't think it's easy to get a work visa. But you may (correct me if I'm wrong) be able to get a visa into the UK based on your citizenship within the commonwealth?

Yes definitely loved the no contact rules there. You'll most likely miss the Vegas potential but you seem to have the right attitude about it and hopefully there'll be some money to make!

No, I don't think you can get a visa with commonwealth? She could maybe get a working holiday visa but you have to be under 30

I'll probably be doing it more out of nostalgia than real financial need ... it's hubsy's turn to make the money! And I'm thinking it'll just be nice to be out of this shark tank ...

@newb2, thanks for the correction. I wasn't sure (all my visa research has been on spousal, YAY RED TAPE) but it's not surprising that there aren't commonwealth visas.

If you're under 31, you could get a working holiday visa, but I feel like I've read that you're older than that, so I think you're SOL. You're not missing out though. The earning potential in the UK/Europe is nothing compared to North America. Have you danced in Australia? Seems like that's the next most lucrative place to dance.

Thanks guys. I'd probably never go. No I haven't danced in Australia. I probably wouldn't as I'd be taking my mom and visiting with relatives.
