    Default Blonde vs brunette?

Who here has had both blonde hair and brunette hair? Which was more successful for you in the stripping industry? Or did it make no difference?
Most of the girls here are hispanic/Latina, so dark hair. Should I add blonde highlights to my naturally brown hair to stand out?

I look pretty Northern European, and have had both hair colors.

In a smaller club, minimal difference. In bigger clubs where there weren't many blondes, the lighter the hair, the better the $$.

That's just me, personally. In addition to just standing out more, I think it's because I play 'dumb blonde' better than 'girl next door' or 'goth chick,' which were the only archetypes that would have worked with other factors in my appearance.

You need to weigh out what looks best on you and what niche you do best when you make your decision. If you're new, wait until you figure it out to decide.

I've had both and neither increased or decreased my income. Go with something that suits you (and your work look/persona) and makes you feel confident and sexy .

Highlights would be a great place to start-if you like them, you can consider going lighter. Being blonde can ruin your hair, so make sure you hire a good colorist and be prepared to sacrifice the quality of your hair for the color. Why not try a blonde wig and see how you go first?

There was an older thread about this, if you do a search you might find more info' .

I'm a blonde at work but brunette (goth bitch) in real life. I def make better $$ as a blonde at work. It sucks but it's true. I hate the fact that I have to sell out in order to be successful but whatever makes my money is all I care about.

I'm naturally a brunette. The day I went blonde, life opened up, and the money started pouring in, and hasn't stopped.

My natural hair colour is blonde, and I started dancing with this hair colour, but I find that brunette matches my personality much better, and in terms of marketing myself, creates a more "cohesive" package that my ideal target market seems to prefer (businessmen and other white collar professionals). It's all about the club you work in + the type of customers you want to attract. My club caters to government workers and my brand is along the lines of "naughty office girl". I'm educated and bad at hiding it, so the younger guys and "blue collar workers" tend to be a bit put off by that. When I was blonde I would initially attract more of these types but when they found out I wasn't a party bimbo after chatting for a while, it affected my ability to close sales with these customers. With my brown hair I find that generally the customers who are physically attracted to me are also attracted to my personality type, and it's that connection that is what gets you regulars, and regulars are a very important factor in your income in my club as it's not exceptionally busy traffic wise for much of the year. I would say try first the colour that best matches your personality, if you don't notice a difference try the colour that makes you stand out more, it really depends on the traffic level of your club vs. what the regular customers are generally more attracted to.

I think that in your particular situation getting some blonde highlights would be beneficial. Just make sure you have a good hairstylist/colorist to get the effect you want.

There are blondes who are Hispanic. Here in these forums, IIRC BarbieNYC is Colombian...and blonde. I've met some blonde Cuban dancers, too.

This is exactly the reason why blonde hair didn't work for me. Thanks for showing me I wasn't the only one who didn't do good as a blonde. Like you, most of my dancing time was spent around a similar area as yours (tons of government workers). If I decide to dance again, blond might work this time because I'm now in Austin...and there's tons of Mexicans here.

I'm a natural blonde. Only danced as a blonde. I tried being brunette before and didn't look that good.

I was white platinum blonde until about 5 months ago. The blonde let me be lazy, I could sit on my ass and guys would come to me because I was *the* Barbie in the sea of brunettes/redheads. I said a lot of dumb shit ("What are your hobbies?" "Spending my money! Teehee!") and you could see it register on the guy's face that I was an idiot... and then he'd promptly buy dances. Cut out a LOT of bullshit chatting.

Now I have red hair and it looks more girl-next-door to a point, but I do have to cold approach more guys and playing dumb doesn't pass off so easily. I miss the blonde but it is very bad for your hair if your stylist doesn't know what she's doing and/or you abuse it with too many hot tools or blowdrying.

i've made good money with both, but i'd say a bit more blond..but if it ruins your hair and drains your wallet its not worth it. i have naturally dark hair, and getting it blond rather than orange is no easy task and i'm way too tired of having brassy damaged hair to bother with it anymore.

I saw on Youtube tutorials that some hairstylists use a new product named Olaplex which is added to the bleach and developer mixture so it gives full protection to the hair, the only thing is you have to use stronger developer than usual (for example 40 vol instead of 30 vol). I personally love the balayage ombre look and it's much lower maintenance than having to retouch new growth every few weeks.

Whatever the club has less of, that's what you should be. When I was a blonde I made a ton of money. There was also only one or two hot blondes at my club while the rest were brunettes.

I've danced as a redhead, with black hair, and now have long light blonde hair and since going blonde my income has tripled. I barely have to hustle now. If I'd realized what a difference it would make I'd have changed it years ago.

I've had blonde hair in the past, and am now brunette. It's hard to say if my income has been effected much due to the fact I'm in a different city/club/shift than I was when I was blonde. I like the customers more now that I'm brunette.

On a side note, when I was dying my hair red, comic book/superhero fans seemed to flock to me. Those guys spent a lot of money, but were more high maintenance than the businessmen I attract now as a brunette.

My average income has doubled since I went from dark red to platinum blonde, not to mention it cuts out 90% of the bullshit. I'm never going back until I retire from dancing.

I am Latin and I lightened my hair to blonde and red.

Blonde looked terrible due to my yellow/green skin undertones.

Red was awesome. I would recommend that women who can't pull of blonde do shades of red instead. Just easier in every way....

I think Caramel highlights would be prettiest if you have dark skin tones. Why don't you post a pic for us so we can have a better match up.
