I looked at the website and there's a video up of the con from last year. It seems like it went off pretty well, there were a LOT of exhibitors there, etc. If I looked at it in the way of paying to meet fans then yeah, that does sound really funny. Based off their schedule, it looks like there are a lot of workshops that go on through the days that are geared toward furthering knowledge in camming. Quite honestly, any conference I have ever been a part of has been pretty expensive to go too if there are a lot of speakers/presenters, because there is a lot of knowledge there. I understand that some of you on this site have been doing what you do for a long time and are very knowledgeable, but for a lot of girls that get into camming, this could be really great to learn more about the industry and how to improve themselves... this IS assuming, of course, that all of it is legit lol.
Last year was their first year putting together the conference, yeah?? It sounds like it's all put together and run BY a model.. and it's quite possible that she wasn't the most business savvy person-- esp. the first year. The people running it may have been in way over their heads-- but regardless, looks like it was legitimate, and they pulled it off. The first year of running a con can be absolutely crazy and disorganized, because you NEVER really know how to handle it until it happens. I'm not making excuses for how poorly it was advertised/how the treated people last year, but I am going to give the benefit of the doubt that it was done by people who were novice's in setting up something like this...As someone whose father is the founder and president of an international association that puts on a HUGE con every year... I get the fact that not everything will be perfect.. for the first few years for sure. Hopefully, they will learn from last year and handle things more appropriately this time around.
I definitely agree with HaydenBlue, I would ABSOLUTELY take my own security anywhere that I was going to have the possibility of meeting fans, but if it's in a controlled setting- it doesn't bother me to meet them. For me, regardless of how creepy they can be, my lifestyle, my job, my money--- it's all because of the fans. Without them, my job wouldn't exist. I've always been someone who loves meeting and talking to people, though

One of the reasons I miss bartending was the person to person social interaction.
