All about your hair and makeup routine for work 💁
my hair is naturally straight and a little past my shoulder. I shower at night so I tie my hair up into a bun so it's nice and wavy for work!
for makeup... I have suffered w/ severe acne on my face for yrs, so I apply 2 coats of MAC studio fix fluid, this seriously hides my acne! No need for concealer. Then I use one of my wet n wild eyeshadow palettes, liner, lashes, and a thick coat of Chapstick.
    Whay about you ladies?

For foundation I use Chanel Vitalumiere cream compact along with Chanel Correcteur Perfection for concealer. I then use Studio Fix powder by MAC to set everything.
For my blush I use Dame by MAC, and bronzer I use either Harmony by MAC or Les Beiges by Chanel. For a highlight I use Lightscapade by MAC or Soleil tan de Chanel if I am going for a glowy bronzed look.
I use Mylar (satin finish white) by MAC for an eyeshadow, and if I want a smokey eye I use Cinderfella also by MAC. If I wear eyeliner I use Blacktrack by MAC. For mascara I use Chanel le Volume in black.
I usually prefer a pink lip for work and wear MAC Angel or Cream cup with a gloss over it, but if I'm going for super glam I will wear Chanel Coromandel which is red.

My hair is a little easier! I have long blonde hair and just blow dry and straighten it.

I always do full coverage foundation w/ concealer with revlon colorstay and maybelline dark circle eraser (the best drugstore concealer!)

Light brown shadow on eyelid, darker brown on edges and into crease, black on edges into brown. Blend with a flesh colored eyeshadow. White On eyebrow brone and tear duct, and a shiny goldish-white on the lid after all that.

I make sure my eyebrows are arched and clean, use mascara and apply falsies. They make a huge difference.

I overline my lips with nyx "natural" and use nyx butter gloss in fotrune cookie. Contour my face with a matte bronzer, use a pink-peach blush then highlight with physicians formula "translucent pearl" for a super fake barbie look. I also put it on my chest.

For hair: Usually just straight, parted a little off to the side. A few extensions so it reaches my hips.

For my makeup I generally start off with Urban Decay primer potion on my eyes, occasionally on any red spots or blemishes I feel need more coverage. Then I use Revlon Colorstay in 110, blend it in with a sponge and then top that with translucent powder. Then I apply Tarte blush to the apples of my cheeks, a slightly darker blush to contour, and then UD Illuminator in Aura on my cheekbones.
After that I fill in my eyebrows with a dark brown powder and a brow/definition brush. Apply a bit of shimmery eggshell colored eyeshadow to the browbone.
Then I take scotch take and line it up at the angle I want my eyeliner to be at and apply my liquid liner retro cateye style. Fix any mistakes with a q-tip.
Apply a small amount of some form brown eyeshadow to the hollow of my eye to create a crease, then use a smaller brush to apply some on my lower lashline for a smokey look.
Then Revlon lipliner in Clover, Wet N Wild's Just Peachy longwear lipstick and then a clear gloss over that. Makeup setting spray and then done.
For my hair I usually use a curling wand for ringlet curls or I straighten everything out and go for a short haired Betty Page vibe. Still learning 50's updos atm.

Does anyone else take upwards of 3 hours to get ready? I basically spin a cocoon and become a pupa whenever I get ready for work. It takes me forever!

I like to start work days by lifting for an hour at the gym. Then I come home, shower, and wrap my hair in a towel while I do my make-up. I'll do a chocolate/fawn/champagne smokey eye with black cat-eye liner first in case of shadow fallout. Then that Maybelline bb cream, it's cheap but my skin loves it and it works! Followed by mild contouring on my cheekbones (if I feel like it!), and this amazing discontinued Dior peachy-bronzy blush. I love using the Anastasia blonde brow pot too because I have tiny pale baby eyebrows. I also love putting Nars Copacabana highlighter on my collarbones and hip bones ... that last place might be kind of odd, but I think it's hot and I love doing it, so whatever.

Also, for those of you who have chronically chapped lips and can't go without chapstick or feel like your lipstick doesn't wear as well as you'd like -- I started using the Too Faced lip primer and it has made a huge difference for me. I do a layer of Starburst LipSmackers (haha), lip primer, then whatever lipstick, usually a pink like Nars Dolce Vita.

My hair is down to my elbows so I don't do any intensive styling. I let it air dry for around 45 minutes, blow dry upside down for volume, and then section out and dry in pieces with a round brush for soft waves.

I put my fake eyelashes on last because I don't like them in my way when I'm doing my hair.

Spending too much time getting ready actually gives me anxiety, I like to be able to roll out the door and go with minimal effort. So I usually straighten my hair once a week on an off night, or maybe really early in the afternoon of a day I plan on working. Then before work all I have to worry about is shower and shaving.

I go for that plastic porn star look.

I take 2-3 hours to get ready...starting with shower/shave/blow dry hair/Sally Hansen leg makeup all over my body. I moisturize my face, prime it, prime my eyelids (urban decay primer) and any blemishes, put on two different concealers, both MAC. Use my beauty blender to apply my make up forever HD foundation, then I contour and highlight using MAC cream contour, my Anastasia contour palette, too faced candle light, and a MAC bronzer. Blush is peaches by MAC or a pink Nars blush. Set it all with some Nars powder..then it's on to my eyes. Anastasia brow powder to fill in brows and set them with Anastasia brow gel. Heavy eyeshadow(white shimmer on the brow bone with whatever color in the crease and a sparkly light color on the lid) thick black liquid liner on the top and thick black gel or pencil on the bottom, mascara and false lashes. Lip color is either loud like too faced melted violet, and MAC candy yum yum or super light like MAC beauty and MAC myth. After my face is done I spray it with a makeup setting spray by MAC.
I finish by straightening my hair since the times I've curled it, I didn't get noticed as much.

I like to keep my look very matte and almost natural. I'm really young so I like to play that up a bit. (Also I'm not the greatest at makeup so I don't take risks at work lol).
I've gotten my routine down to an hour. After I shower/moisturize my face I apply KVD Lock-It foundation. Then I do my eyebrows and eyeshadow using Maybelline (I think) Nudes pallet. I usually keep it pretty neutral with pin up style eyeliner because I use dark red lipstick from Revlon and matching gloss from NYX. Basically just a light color on the base and a crease cut with a dark brown, On my lashes I use L'Oreal Fiber Mascara. Then I set my foundation with Makeup Forever powder and then lightly contour using a bronzer, I wait until I get to work to do my hair and apply lipstick. I usually just straighten my hair (It cannot hold a curl without me burning it/dousing it in hairspray) and then lip stick, perfume and I'm done!

Oh man, it takes me like two hours to get ready. A nice hot shower, scrub, shave, moisturize. Put hair up in a towel, then start with foundation, Estée Lauder Double Wear is my favorite. Then concealer if I have any blemishes to cover. Eyeshadow primer by Urban Decay. Highlighter by Physicians Formula. Eyeshadow Kitten by Stila. Her black liquid eyeliner for a retro cat eye. Prep my lips with Dr. Pepper lip balm then lipstick Ruby Woo by MAC. Blush by NARS. Oh and fake lashes. Then the Urban Decay setting spray. My hair is long and straight, I just put some mousse in and blow dry it upside down for volume.

Lol wow, some of you girls spend so much time on makeup! I spend maybe 20-40 minutes in the shower and shave with oil (then wash off the oil thoroughly). Then let my hair dry naturally, toss a little straightening gel in it (not to straighten it, but rather to help my natural curls stay together, a trick my hairdresser taught me). My makeup routine takes about 20 minutes. Base (because I have acne), liquid foundation, mascara + curler, thick eyeliner on top with a small wing that wraps halfway around the lower lid, a dab of sparkly black eyeshadow on top of the liner, blush with a big smooth brush (don't know why I bother since it isn't visible in the club lighting), overdrawn lip liner to accentuate my somewhat small lips, cheap lipstick. Sometimes if I feel like it I'll do smokey eyes. So my whole routine takes about an hour.

I'm a quickie 45-60min girl too. Base of L'Oréal Cc cream (the anti redness one) and a touch of darker foundation to contour. Dark smoky glittery eyes, gel liner and false eyelashes. I use a bronze blush and highlighter over the top of my cheekbones and shoulder blade. I aim for a Barbie look as I have white blonde hair.

I'm on a mission to get healthy long hair again to I'm trying to use as little heat as possible. So, I wash my air and let it air dry and it either dries straight or I put it in a braid to it dries wavy. I use a lot of product (Aveda damage therapy heat protectant spray, daily cream, and smoothing cream, also oil once it's dry) and let it do its thing. For my face I wash it, put lotion all over, prime eyelids with concealer, put foundation all over my face (Clinique acne foundation because I have sensitive skin), concealer if necessary, foundation powder, bronzer, some eyeshadow, eyeliner, lashes, chapstick, lipliner (mac), lipstick (mac), and I'm done! If I don't do my hair (i used to curl it or crimp it with extensions and it took so long) I could be ready in 30 mins.

My routine is brush my teeth, wash my face, shower and shave, put on lotion, spray perfume, put on my robe and sit at my vanity. That's where I do my hair and makeup.

Hair usually takes 5 minutes, no more than 10 (as long as I'm wearing it straight) since I basically just add clip-ins and brush it. If I want to curl it I use my curling wand which adds an extra 25-45 minutes but I usually wear it straight anyway.

Makeup is usually a 15 minute ordeal. I start with my eyebrows and make them perfect. Then eyeliner, then eyeshadow. I do a smokey-eye. Then I put on liquid concealer and powder foundation, very pink blush, mascare, and lip gloss. I always do my make up the same except sometimes a different lip gloss or lipstick.

Then I get dressed, gather my things, and go to work!

Sometimes I will work after my evening classes. In that case I do all the shower stuff before school and then after class I go to my car and do my hair and makeup there. I don't like getting ready at work because it can be crowded or filled with annoying girls.

Default Re: What's your current hair and makeup routine for work?

I takes me forever to get ready- so long that I actually dread my curling iron way more than dealing with problem customers. First I have to shave, one to two weeks of leg and armpit hair and inner thigh pubes. Then wrestle with the remaining pubic hair and try to decide how much I can leave without it poking through a thong.

My natural hair was already fucked sideways frizzy and kinky, and now that I've bleached it there's no "air dry, and let it curl" option left. So it's me and my metal death trap for like three different layers on each side of my head...it makes my arms and neck hurt, I get burned, and it's so boring. Then I try to piece together an outfit...which, due to certain key pieces going missing or ripping, is always an adventure. If I'm bloated it's also coffee time- gotta take a nice big shit before showing people my naked belly.

Make up is concealer and some Aveda moisturizer tint stuff which is sometimes too pale for me and sometimes not. Eyebrows are always a mess, gotta pluck, then draw them back in with a pencil or brush and powder. Fake eyelashes, or just a shit ton of mascara, depending on if I remembered to buy them. Two shades of eye shadow almost up to my brow bone, and pencil eyeliner smudged about somewhere. Liquid on top if I'm feeling fancy.

I do a lot of "put a bunch of shit here, and wipe off the ugly parts". My pièce de résistance is always a dramatic red lip.

By the end of the night it's all sweated off, my lips look chapped with little cracks of red left, no eyebrows or liner, pimples boldly shining through, hair creeping back toward 80's status, outfit in total disarray, thighs clammy with bruises and cellulite- and that's when I sell the most dances. Drunks don't give a fuck.

I do full face and hair every night. It takes me two hours to do my hair, it's awful.

I never wear eyeshadow, unless it is neutral. I go for a Barbie doll/ Kim Kardashian look. Big eyes, liner in places that look good with my eyes, huge falsies. I always overdraw my lips with a color that matches my lips and then put on a mixture of MAC's Pretty Please and Creme Cup. I use a peachy blush and highlight/ contour my face. I use NARS foundation and like 3 different concealers.

If I have time a take a bath, scented lotion all over(whichever bath and body works stuff) I'm on and off with primer but I've been on a good skin kick lately so I use Almay foundation all over, try to cover any visible flaws on body. i useloreal powder over the foundation then i half ass countour with bronzer. use pink maybeline blush stick thing. i switch it up with eye make up but my go to is usually a baby blue pencil in the corner and a bit on the lid then i go over the crease a bunch with a rick brown till its a nicely blended and the blue is subtler. I emphasis with black mac eye shadow around other corners and thinly under eye. when i can get them on without going blind i love falsies!! lips i always have a neatly lined red but sometimes i lighten it by mixing foundation with gloss to get a more kissable look.

i have shoulder length peachy red blonde hair that i generally curl at the ends for either old school classic or amore tousled bardot vibe. then i spritz on some body mist and envision myself a godess showered in dolllaaz

Hair--I have long blonde hair that is naturally wavy/curly but it looks better straight so I straighten it for work. Makeup--concealer and bronzer for contouring (I don't wear foundation, it looks too heavy), eye shadow primer followed by two eye shadow colors (one for lid one for crease), eyeliner and mascara, lip liner followed by pink shimmery lip gloss, and I finish it all off with a setting spray.

Do any of you ladies have lighter skin tones and use bronzers just for contouring your cheekbones? If so, what bronzer do you use?

Charlie, I like Hard Candy brand peach blush/bronzer (2 colors) in "fox in a box". From Wal mart, $6.00. There's also one by Elf I like, I forget the color. I am fair also.
