When setting up a couple account on sm, are social security #'s required for each person? Also would I still be able to keep my personal account if I set up a couple account to do with my boyfriend?

So if both social security #s are required, does that mean that we would both receive a 1099? Also would I still be able to have solo account and a couple account for me and my boyfriend?
Yes you can have you solo account and you would both recieve a 1099 ONLY if you put him as the money recipient you get to choose between you and him but only get the money in there name. You can also have him as a guest performer on your solo account rather than an entire new account, but you will need to give them the same info.

On SM, the way you're supposed to set up a couple's account is: 1) You sign up and get approved for a solo account, 2) Your partner signs up and gets approved for a solo account (s/he never has to really broadcast on it if s/he doesn't want), 3) Now that SM has approved each of you individually and gotten your ID and stuff, you sign up for a couple's account, and that has to get approved, too, but I think I remember it being faster than an individual account, since they've already reviewed your stuff once before.
The couple's account "belongs" to one of you, and that person gets the $$ for the couple's account (SM will only pay one of you, they won't divide it up) and is the person that gets the 1099. It's up to you to decide whose name the couple's account goes under.

If you're married filing jointly, this isn't an issue.
If you wish to stick him with the part of the tax burden (and you're not married), you will need to issue him a 1099 personally for over $600 his share...if not, you eat the entire tax burden (which could work in your favor if you have kids).

I was thinking about using payoneer to get paid on but then I would have to take my bf share off to give to him. How much does it cost to take money off the card?
