Dizzy Who else here wants to eat constantly 2 weeks before your period???

Omg! All day I've wanted to do nothing but eat! I've been craving heavy rich food, salty to be exact. I'm expecting my period in 2 weeks maybe 1 week bc my boobs are super sore :/ I'm also starting to feel sleepy early in the night way before my bedtime. Anyone else find this normal 2 weeks before your period?

Yeah I tend to like to eat a lot when I'm PMSing and on my period. I tend to love really rich foods at that time, like brownies, fast food, etc.

It's hard to find things that are filling, healthy, and satisfying. For some reason sweet potatoes do it for me. You can microwave or roast them in the oven (slice em up if you go the oven route) until they're soft (if they aren't cooked enough, they'll be hard and gross). Once it's done cooking, I mash it up, salt it well, pour olive oil over the top, and have it with greek yogurt. It hits that sweet & salty button that can be really hard to satiate.

Having dried fruit around is another option as a replacement for sweet, unhealthy snacks. Costco has some great organic options, like dried figs, that feel a bit more exotic and fun than the standard trail-mix crap. I also find berries satisfying. They can be expensive, so sometimes I'll instead snack on frozen organic sweet cherries from costco (yeah, I'm a costco fiend). The coldness slows down your eating, you get your sweet fix from the cherries, and it's fairly healthy.

Uhhg, that's me right now!! I've been PMSing and spotting for the past two days, now stopped spotting again for some reason. >.> So irregular.

The other night when I got home from work, I ate probably 1500 calories, and the night after was similar. Started getting a little belly and tried to chill out. Peanut butter is my best friend right now. Try finding foods that are high in protein and low in fat/sugar (like peanut butter, chicken/turkey, etc.) I honestly love carbs and have never found compelling evidence that they make you fat, so I eat a lot of bread and crackers too.

Shoot, I eat all.the.damn.time. Period. I've a hyper thyroid, & I can't 'stay full' or satisfied from food very long. I think this time of the year has a lot to do w/it.

I've been eating a ton of healthy grilled chicken salads like every day but they're not really filling me up. I binged yesterday & went thru Wendy's & felt gross afterward. I'm really only craving salads & sweets this month, mostly chocolate.

If you're craving salad, try a more hearty salad with boiled potatoes, chickpeas, boiled eggs, chicken/beef/bacon, avocado and/or cheese. A sweet balsamic dressing might also help between the sugar and light oil. I make my own: balsamic vinegar, olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper and dijon mustard.

Also, if you're craving chocolate try eating chocolate ice cream. Ice cream is unsaturated fat, no trans or saturated fat, which means it will burn easier but still satisfy the craving. Hope that helps! I'm full of healthy recipe ideas if you ever need one.

Two weeks before your period is in the middle of two periods for most women and thus it's when ovulation typically occurs. Many women notice symptoms around the time of their period but don't realize that ovulation also causes hormonal changes and physical side effects. This could be what you're experiencing.

eat dark chocolate, at least 70% cocoa, but preferably 85%. its healthy, contains less sugar, and has lots of antioxidants! that's how i satisfy my chocolate cravings.

Ugh, yes. Dark chocolate and also berries. Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries...you can't go wrong there.

^I do both of these things , frozen mango is also amazing (hard to find organic though)-it tastes like sorbert.

I crave carbs around this times and try to substitute them with healthier options, but sometimes it's sooo good to have a packet of salty potato chips *sigh*.

^ mmm yes!!! I love those salads you describe! I usually do but have been trying to lay off the bacon & stick to leaner meats. Today I tried having a sandwich w/ avocado, ham, mayo, lettuce but afterward it made me feel sick like i had eaten too much of something.

Yes Nina, I believe I am having these extreme episodes during my ovulation time. My boobies are extremley heavy right now to the point of being sore at the lightest touch & extreme fatique most days. I only feel normal about 2 weeks out of the month LoL shit sucks :p it also causes me to have chronic constipation... is all of this normal w. pre pms???

Mm yeah, red meat is very hard to digest and all-around not healthy. I would avoid ham and bacon... or just put a tiny amount of bacon in a salad. And avocado is great but needs to be in moderation, because it's actually very high in (unsaturated) fat and also difficult to digest.

During PMS, I just want to eat chocolate like a Willy Wonka whore. I tend to smoke more weed during PMS and shark week too, so that equates to more food intake usually.
