Have you ever not been able to talk like loss of voice or sore throat and still been able to work and make money?

Stay home.

^ I agree.. you might just make your throat worse by working. Stay home and drink tea until you're better.
I try to be seductive and smile and nod alot, whisper in their ear instead of straining over the music. and tell them that there is a better place for you two to get to know each other better and guide him in the private room direction.

^ whispering is harder on your vocal chords than speaking regularly. That could just make it worse. Stay home and drink some tea, watch Netflix, and refresh yourself.![]()

I hope you feel better soon! Yeah, have some tea n' honey, & gargle w/salt water.

Seconding the staying home if you can, but I've had to work through laryngitis before. I brought a HUGE thermos full of lemon ginger tea with buckwheat honey mixed in and had a sip whenever I could get away, and it preserved my voice somewhat until I got better. Weirdly, I kind of banked those few days--I sounded like a man with emphysema the entire time, but for whatever reason guys seemed to dig it.

My first, shitty club made me work with full blown bronchitis. Swollen glands, could barely whisper. I made a lot of money, but it was annoying as hell.

I hate those kinds of clubs--I think I could have called in with Ebola and they would have been like "just wear a face mask and come in anyway, we're short on girls." /threadjack
All I can think of is pretending to not know English.....which would be kinda hot. I kind of want to try that lol

If you really can't speak at all that wouldn't work. You would still have to "me no speak a engleese" to everyone.
