You mean to get rides?

Yes. To get rides or give rides.
Well, getting rides from Uber is ok as long as you're not getting rides at a "predictable" time. If I try to get an Uber to a concert/show/some other local event, I will either not get one or pay out the ass for one. They up their prices due to "demand" and I could end up paying $40 for what would usually be a $7 ride, if it's during a "surge" - aka: special event. In that regard, it sucks, cuz I never ever ever get an Uber at a decent price when I really need one. Other times... ehhh....
Every time I've gotten an Uber - no matter what city I was in - I had to know where I was going cuz the driver had no damn clue. I have yet to figure out how an Uber driver knows how to find me via GPS but can't "figure out" my destination the same way... apparently.... Idk, but they are virtually useless.
To sum up: My experience with Uber has been - overpriced when you need them, useless drivers when they get to you, and drivers that inappropriately hit on me if I actually get into one. They're cheaper than normal, so if that's the best and quickest I can get, sure - but I would honestly rather not.
The only reason I use them at all is because the one cab company in my town is even worse than useless....

^in Philadelphia I had the same experience. I didn't see the benefit over a regular cab. Also after signing up they are one of the worst about sending spam.

Half of the time i've tried to use Uber, the drivers will get lost beyond belief en route to my pick up locations (which are usually at major locations like 'the mall' in dc, or a well known historic freaking landmark). So, there's that.
On the other hand, I've had plenty of frustratingly creepy exchanges with cab drivers, but Uber drivers have been refreshingly professional (so far) IME.

I use Ubers all the time to get to work and get home. I just like that I can see when they'll be here, who's picking me up, how much it'll cost, etc. with the Uber app. Also, whenever I've left anything in an Uber the driver has always been extremely helpful in getting it back to me but if I leave something in a taxi it's gone for good. I stopped using taxis a long time ago. Uber isn't perfect but I like it enough to use it weekly.

I have never personally used Uber, but a friend of mine used them on an extended trip to LA, and has been saying nothing but good things about his experiences with them.
Personally I'm a big fan. I live and primarily use it in Minneapolis, MN so idk if other cities have different experiences. I have had one or 2 times(New Year's Eve and Halloween) where the priced spiked or surged or whatever you call it, but it was only by a few dollars. I paid $11 for what is normally $6 or 7.
I like that you can call or text the driver to make sure you see each other, etc. Drivers have always been very courteous to me, and usually don't need help getting to my destination since they all have gps on their phones. However, make sure your current address is right(you might have to type it in) when making the request. Once, the gps said my pick up point was like 3 blocks from where I was.
When I used it in Myrtle Beach Uber could pick us up in like a quarter of the time that traditional cabs quoted me(taxi call center would quote me 45, and I could see that there were Uber drivers 2 minutes away). It's cool you can see how many cabs are near you and how long they'd take to get to you on a map when you open the app.
It's a free download so it's totally worth a try!

My friend had good experiences and recommended it. I've never personally tried. from what I gather here it depends where you use it.
