Hi SW! I love this place, I've been studying it for almost a two years on and off (hoping to find a better vanilla job, but looks like this was meant to be). Before I jumped into this, I wanted to build a "fan base" and just test the waters on a niche site. I finally feel like I need to be paid for my content and am ready to take the next step. While I had and still have my vanilla job, I requested certain questions not be asked re: my identity, but they still do. I usually ignore them or am very vague, but I know when I get into this, I'm going to have to be more "warm." The problem is, I am honest to a fault, very friendly, and even lying by omission, makes me feel a little bad bad. But screw it, I'm here to start a business and make money.
I just wanted to know how do you maintain your regulars or gain new fans, when they are so curious about your life? (For example, one wants to know my full name and birthdate to fly me out- and I'm like HELL NO--he doesn't get what the big deal is about that… ignorant smh) I know it seems obvious which questions you don't have to answer, but when I go into this I never want to be caught off guard. I have to have my defense arsenal ready to go once I start this…
In your experience, what is none of a costumer's business and how do you dodge them?![]()
