Default New - Advice Please :)

I'm a newbie in the area - I have virtually no dance experience aside from some pole dancing classes that I took. But, I'm eager to become a dancer anyway. For you experienced girls, how much dancing had you done before you started? How much did you learn on the job? And are there any girls from the area specifically who can talk about the local clubs/auditions?

I attached some pictures. For me, my biggest hangup is my confidence because I'm shy. And, I'm having trouble with my makeup - I've been referred to as 'cute as a button' but I'm trying to go for sexy...so any help in that department would be much appreciated too.

    Thanks

I started dancing in Boston, at the Glass Slipper. Audition there is minimal, you'd have nooooooo problems getting hired. They just asked me to show my stomach to see "if I had any scars." (As of a year ago) you did't pay a house fee, you made $15/30 on private dances and $30-50 out of VIP half hours/hours, so you'll be hustling for tips. Oh, and $4 on drinks, which buys the guy ~15 minutes of your time - the customer pays $30 for your drink. Sets are 2 or 3 songs, stage tips can be very good. Pussy basketball is a huge thing onstage; you get a lot of college kids and bachelor parties there. The pole is a bit wobbly, and doesn't spin.

I haven't been there in a year, but the money was hit and miss; I don't think the learning curve would be too difficult, as I didn't find it so. It is a very, err ... ratchet ... club. If you can get in, I'd recommend going over to Centerfolds instead. They may not want you because you're a newbie.

Regardless, make sure you set your boundaries and stick to them. I'm in Vegas now and while Boston didn't have the completely rampant extras like there are out here, they did still occur and they can be VERY frustrating when you're struggling to make money. Especially when you're new, there are a lot of predatorial regulars and "hobbyists" that will try to convince you to do more for less - don't listen to them! You can make clean money there, it just takes a good hustle.

If you have any more questions, let me know. I still have a few dancer friends in the area, so I might be able to get you some newer info. Good luck, girl!
