Default What are your experiences with "cocaine"? (if any)

My older sister is in town visiting and is staying with me at my apartment. Last night she told me she was going out with old friends and not to wait up for her. She didn't come home last night, but I wasn't really worried because she can take care of herself. When she is with her friends she goes a little crazy with her partying. Anyway, she called me late this morning to say she is home and is going to shower and try and get some sleep. I asked "Did you have fun?" She replies "Fucking Crazy Ass Fun!" She said that they went drinking and later they ended up at her friends place and partied all night long. Finally she said "We're getting together again tonight, you should come." WOW! Little sister finally gets invited to the big girl party! My sister and her friends used to be hard core partiers and their get-togethers usually involved lots of alcohol, weed, coke and other assorted drugs. So with this in mind, I'm a light-weight social drinker and I've smoked weed in the past, but I've never tried "cocaine" before. What are your experiences with "cocaine"? (if any)

^ agreed, just don't. back in my partying days i tried it in various forms, most of them resulting in puking, dehydration, all my money spent and jonesing for more and willing to do anything it takes to get more. i've made huge mistakes while on it, its highly addictive in the moment and can be cut with all sorts of nasty shit like baby laxatives, baking soda, god knows what else. fuck that.

I don't think it's worth the hype. I'd just avoid the cocaine if I were you.

I've tried it a couple of times, and I would agree it's just not worth it. Personally, for me, it just felt like a massive caffeine buzz for about 10 minutes. All that resulted in was me concentrating on trying not to grind my teeth and look like I was jacked up. Also, comparing it to caffeine, for me, is not a good thing. I hate that fucking feeling.

Even if people like that feeling, I didn't understand the appeal behind it lasting for such a short amount of time. Couple that with the fact that it could be cut with weird shit you're unaware of, and it's one of those drugs that could have really bad consequences randomly, I don't consider it worth the risk.

I stay away from that shit. I wouldn't even touch it. I fear hardcore drugs like cocaine, heroin, meth, etc.

Just watch the movies "Scarface" or "Blow" - those movies will show you the reasons not to partake in cocaine.

I just stick to weed & coffee.

The thing about doing coke for the first time is that you never know what it will lead to. What I tell anyone that asks your question is that you've made it this far in your life without it, why risk everything to try it now? It can literally be playing Russian roulette with your life due to the addictive nature of it. Asking anyone elses experience with it is irrelevant because everyone has different addictive tendencies.

    ETA--

Sorry and my experiences on it have been good and bad I'm sure like many others. I've done the casual night out having some fun with it and the up all night watching the sun rise and cursing my decision thing. From my experience the lows were always lower than the highs were high.

I love coke. Some people love it some people hate it. I never have bad lows.
I have worse lows from MDMA but I still do it anyway lol. (The highs def outway the lows)

(I'm talking about when I go out partying. I don't do drugs everyday or anything)

I had used for recreational purpose its medical forms (eg. Aderall, Concerta, etc.) so, I haven't experienced a "high" from it...but tons of focus and excessive productivity. My ex used them to get high from them...only to have some bad lows.

Stay far away from it. Cocaine can have some devastating consequences, even after only one use. Stick to alcohol, and if you really feel like you have to get high to party it up with the others, smoke some marijuana. All that other stuff is really unnecessary to have a good time.

Never tried it. Dated a guy who was addicted and dumped him because of it. Met a guy who had a serious addiction and he told me several horror stories, like being high while performing in concert (co founder of a major rock band) and spending thousands a day on it.

I tried it at my first club, and I thought it was overrated. Two hour headache after a 30 minute buzz where all I did was chat up everyone in the room without making any money and dance like a maniac on stage. Pretty sure everyone thought I was on drugs, which was true.

Tried it once more after that, same experience. It's an outdated drug. If you are going to do drugs, look them up Erowid and DO NOT take anything that some stranger hands to you without testing it first or knowing where it came from and who to call if it goes bad. Please do your research before getting fucked up.

If you are looking for a fun drug to try, that's like cocaine, try Molly. Not X, which can be cut with dangerous things, but like pure Silk-Road-Shipped-From-Amsterdam 80% MDMA. Make sure the person you get it from is reputable. Be knowledgeable about your drugs if you are going to do them, and for the love of god, do not take anything that comes from a questionable source.

Coke is only good if it's really really good coke tbh. MDMA is awesome and I also like to take it rather than pills because you can see the quality. (If it's in white or light brown crystals then it's top quality.) But I only do it if it's a really really heavy night (like an actual rave).

To answer the OP question truthfully, some of my extended family (half-relatives) dealt coke in the SF Bay area in the early 1970s. Yes they were OGs. The rest of us didn't participate for many good reasons.

As an adult I don't think coke is worst thing (it used to be prescribed medically & is used during surgeries to control bleeding) BUT modern coke dealing is a risky game. Modern coke using is a sucker's game- that stuff is so stepped on (cut) because the profit margin is so high & a lot of users don't know how to clean it.

Honestly I witnessed the rise of meth abuse (from the 1980s to now.) Meth is "the poor man's coke". All the things I saw made me feel like I could really do without all that. That's just my view.

I tried cocaine once but I didn't see what the big deal was. Maybe I didn't sniff enough but hell I was scared to sniff too much and fuck myself up in a bad way.

First off I don't like sniffing any powder or anything except air into my nose and second off I didn't get high like happy euphoria or anything I just felt energetic like I had drank a 12 pack of red bull or something.

I didn't buy it myself but I hear it's expensive habit and I didn't want to blow hard earned money I'd much rather just drink a extra large red bull.

Not gonna lie, I had some fun times on cocaine. The problem is that as your tolerance goes up you need more and more. Also the cocaine today is cut with a drug used to treat ringworm in cattle. Some shipments have been known to cause flesh rot. I quit using after I OD'd 7 years ago. Been clean ever since.

Someone very close to me became heavily addicted to cocaine, went from snorting it to shooting it, eventually became suicidal, and lost nearly everything close to them in the process (including, of course, every penny they'd ever earned). Luckily, family could afford to send them to a very nice rehab facility (at a cool $1k/day), and they've been clean & sober for two years. It started out as a party drug...didn't stay that way for long.

For people with any sort of addictive tendencies, people with family histories of addiction, and people dealing with any sort of mental illnesses...I'd highly recommend staying away. There don't seem to be many 'benefits,' and the consequences could be dire.

Well, I spent ages 17-18 getting high in my room alone, spending hours writing, drawing, folding origami, and making collages. I loved it. I would polish off an 8-ball by myself on a school night! It made me so relaxed, creative, and it totally took me out of my body. It was like I was nothing but a brain thinking lightning-fast technicolor thoughts.

I was also addicted from the first time I used it. I missed prom and a bunch of other dorky teenage milestones, lost friends, almost died, I lied and stole to support my habit, you know, the usual sad drug story stuff. Also, the comedown from cocaine is incredibly painful. When the high wears off, it feels like your skull is being cracked open, your heart is burning inside your chest, and you're certain the entire world is coming to kill you.

Cocaine isn't worth it, in my opinion. I haven't done it in like, 8 years, and I'll never touch it again.

I had some fun times but I wont bother again; the come downs on anything for me are pretty appalling. Its such poor quality for the most part that it doesn't have much effect beyond a good caffeine hit.

Its up to you in the end if you have some; and at least you would be with your sister (so hypothetically safe?) but everything written in this thread has been my experience too the good and the bad.

As Charlie61 said, any history of mental illness and steer clear- this is absolutely true. Major drug use affected my brain chemistry and memory....

Cocaine IS coffee at my club. Doctors, lawyers, big time dealers, CEOs, millionaires, emaciated dancers offer it to me regularly. I'd say 90% of the girls do it damn near daily at my club and it's scary. They're all ridiculously, sickly thin and WILL DO ANYTHING to score. I recently saw track mark bruises on a top earner's thigh.

I think it can be done somewhat safely in veryyy small doses, as a "pick me up." I do it occasionally (0-3 times a month) but I am small and moderately-highly susceptible to stimulants, so I find it's not enjoyable to do line after line. I've never understood the whole "let's get an 8 ball" idea, bc wtf is there to DO for all those hours, all coked up? (NO sex mixed in with drugs for me!!) I'm pretty bored with coke. I'd rather have a Brazilian coffee, that shit is hardcore. XD

Not all people like pot. Usually, it just makes me paranoid and impatient...a bit hungry. I don't really think it's your place to tell someone what's "good enough" and what isn't necessary without knowing her body chemistry. Anyway, OP-coke is expensive and has a very short high. Molly is waaaay better imo, but to be done as infrequently as possible. If you're looking for a warm, fuzzy feeling-pills do the job and then some. Good luck, be careful, and please remember this is all illegal-please don't drive if you're too fucked up.

I was a very drug experimental teenager and tried it for the first time when I was 17. Not going to lie, I had some good times on it, and it quickly became one of my favorites. I like it too much so I've always limited myself. I've never bought large quantities, no more than an 8 ball between two people. As I got older it became a "special occasion" thing. 4 days out of the year, 2 birthdays, anniversary, and New Years Eve. That was until a few years ago when we got our NYE 8 ball and it was the weirdest high I've ever felt in my life. Anxiety, severe dry mouth, paranoia, just an all around sketchy feeling. I've never felt that way before from coke, it was scary.

Turns out it wasn't all coke. Only reason I know this, is one of my friends who got the same thing we did, failed a surprise drug test shortly after and she failed for a long list of stuff she swore she'd never even tried and had no idea how she failed for anything aside weed and coke. She'd felt the same weird, anxiety ridden, high we had. Since then I've been put off it entirely. I get the itch now and then, but I'm too scared from the last time.

That's my cautionary tale, because the problem is you never really know what you're getting and what exactly is in it.
