They will give you a blood/urine test, delve deeply into your med. history. If you pass that, you may have to stay on their facility for a week. Then more (daily) blood tests, depending.
You won't get paid til wks after, usually.

There used to be a big lab in my state that did these trials but they closed a few years back. I think they moved their tests/trials overseas due to lawsuits and other issues.
I'm sure there are still labs that do this in the US (lower 48 ) but you would probably need to seek them out.

My sister and I got contacted for one by Michigan State U's Psychology department. It was a twin study. They sorta just found us, I guess. We got letters in the mail asking if we wanted to be a part of the study. They wanted swabs of our saliva. We never ended up going through with it though, and they were only offering like $200.

In good conscience I need to point out some of these drugs being tested on humans can have severe side effects, like suicide and health damage. If you do medical trials read up on what you are about to subject yourself to...and what might happen in the future...
There is a tiny chance some of these labs up and moved to Puerto Rico (there are pharm companies down there b/c of tax breaks and less restrictive laws) so going to them might be a short plane trip. However remember they are comping you for what is essentially a huge gamble on your future health.

I didn't go through with it but I was approved for an asthma study. They had this pill that's supposed to help. My asthma is severe and one one of the side effects was wheezing/asthma attack...umm no. Lol. The total pay was $800 and you would get $50 after every visit, equaling 800 at the end of it.
They would've paid for all of my current meds and transportation.
