This is the first time I've worked in a club that has a tip walk, and I'm still a little confused about the hustle.
Every time after getting off stage, each dancer goes around and gets a small tip from almost every guy in the place. This can add up to a significant amount of money at the end of the night. The only time we are allowed to do this is right after we've come off the stage. Since I'm already there thanking the guy for my tip, do I suggest a dance then? And then if he wants one, do I go right away (and lose out on the rest of my $$ from the tip walk), or wait until I'm finished collecting my tips and hope that another dancer doesn't grab him during that time?
OR, if I finish collecting all my tips and THEN go back and hustle for dances, how the heck do I bring that up after I was just there talking to them a couple minutes ago? By this time, we've probably already gone through a brief introduction, or the guy is a club regular (most are), so that eliminates that as an opener. Also, some of the customers are so used to the tip walk that if a dancer goes up to them for any reason, they just automatically pull out a couple dollars and hand it over without even really looking or giving a chance to speak to them first. How do I get their attention and turn this into an opportunity to sell a dance?
These are probably n00b questions, but the club where I previously worked had a slow CR based hustle, and tips were practically non-existent. This is almost like learning to hustle all over again.![]()
