Default Urgent: Glamour modelling questions/contract help please

    Hi All,

I've arranged a photo shoot (my first lingerie/glamour one). I've called a beauty school and they are sending a student MUA (fingers crossed I like her work). I'm offering the artist prints for her portfolio (or a full res image to be sent to her) in lieu of cash payment.

I don't want to find an image of me in my knickers in a nudie mag somewhere (I don't want her selling the image to a third party in other words). Anything I need to know or get her to sign?

To a lesser degree; if you can suggest some basic poses, how to take a flattering pic etc would be appreciated but am def more concerned about the MUA stuff.

    Thankyou xx

You can add the "no sales to a 3rd party without signed permission" clause into a contract. I would give her a heads up that you'll be asking her to sign this, I've had photographers get kinda testy when asked to sign a release without being warned (because in case there's something they don't like, it's too late, they've already wasted the day booking it out to shoot you).

I would browse around ModelMayhem and check out some glamour model portfolios for pose ideas. Practicing facial expressions in the mirror is helpful. If she shoots on a camera with a screen, asking her to see the pictures during the shoot at a few points can help as well.

For make up artist shoot a few headshots of your face neck. I doubt she needs nude ones.

Tell her she can have beautiful head shots to show off make up.

for posing, aim to keep your legs slightly apart. If together looks like one big leg and fattening.

Get the make up artisT to sign a release form that says she can use the photos for portfolio only. You can Google forms usually.

MUHA's only need headshots. Shoulders up. You shouldn't have any worries about it. For the most part they only use them in their books to get more work. It's the photographers who want to shoot you for FREE and only give you 2-3 images that you should be concerned about. If you are paying the photograopher then you own all the rights. If they are paying you then they own them and can do what they want with them including sell them to 3rd party. If it's a trade shoot then you have to talk to them because generally you are trading your posing and modeling for their lighting, photography and post production expertise.

If you want to see some good poses and all that look up or dan hostettler (spelling?) and also studiostyles.net

Lovely, thankyou ladies I'm nervous, i've never done GM before x

There use used to be a great thread on here about prepping the day before.... ie drink lots of water, don't eat anything the day of bar fruit/or along those lines. Wear loose clothing so you dont have pressure lines... bah, its more searching for me.
