That is interesting. It appears that people in Washington want to get the fuck outta dodge. The strangest cost search IMO is "water" in Oregon. That is very strange. Is there some kind of water shortage there or something?

I can understand the nanny searches in TX because of all the children being born there. Alot of people must be dropping dead in NJ.

the washington one is because they changed border laws - where as you didnt need a passport or any of that before to enter canada - you do now - and A LOT of people here, more so on the sound ( seattle/vancouver areas) go back and forth constantly for work or camping trips and such, ( because Both WA and BC have amazingly pretty places all over) - and seattle area is also home to some of the biggest companies in the world ( microsoft, Boeing etc) so I imagine work travel is common

WA IS the the most liberal state in the us too so, next to nothing utilities, no state income tax , recreational pot is legal, very open and supportive of lgbt issues and so on.... figured those most pissed about those things would just move to idaho which is...well.. at least northern idaho is a neo nazi strong hold - but other than that the southern parts are just a typical strong right state body, and Montana is... well its Montana.. hehe so Im pretty sure with us its more tied to work and recreation

Washington has cheap utilities? That's awesome. I love Montana & always stand up for it. There's a rainbow of weird people there. lol

There has been a severe drought in California -- hundreds of people's wells started to run dry out in porterville last August and farmers in central valley were given no water allotments last year. I think I remember seeing that it was affecting the southern part of Oregon too.

Eta: here is a map. It does look like Oregon has been hit hard :http://www.mercurynews.com/drought/c...california-and

In the interest of 'full disclosure', the state of Washington imposes no personal income tax, but it does impose a 34%+ gross receipts tax on corporate Washington businesses. Thus Washington residents effectively wind up paying state taxes 'second-hand' via higher prices being charged by businesses throughout the state to cover the cost of this state tax. No question that Washington residents benefit due to roads and other state budget items mostly being paid for by corporations. However, this has arguably contributed to major businesses like Boeing moving research and production operations to other states, has contributed to Microsoft moving cloud data center operations to other states, etc.

Indeed Washington has very low cost electricity, thanks mostly to hydroelectric power. The only 'worry' is that worsening west coast drought conditions might reduce the amount of available water for hydropower generation.

Very true ... which also explains New Hampshire listing passport cost as their #1 search question. Northern NH is far closer to major Canadian cities than it is to major US cities.

As a personal observation, I was amazed by the number of states listing breast surgery cost ( and costs of other plastic surgeries ) as their #1 search question. As to Mississippi's and Tennessee's #1 question being DNA test, I won't even ask !!!

There are a lot of freaks in Ms and Tn getting it in and producing babies. I believe there was a guy with 14 kids all by different women he had no job and he was living in TN

Scratch that 22 kids with 14 different women http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/3397397

Also there is some Maury povich like show in Tn where people get their 15 min of fame for Dna testing. Kinda ratchet if you ask me.

Now I understand why North Dakota's #1 search question was 'a minor'

(snip)"In Congress, several bipartisan bills are pending designed to crack down on trafficking and ensure that minors who are sold for sex are treated as victims, not criminals. Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, a North Dakota Democrat and co-sponsor of several of these measures, has been among the most vocal legislators focusing on this problem, bringing federal officials to the state to train authorities on how to identify trafficking and looking for ways to stem the activity through websites.

Law enforcement says the Bakken is a made-to-order market for sex trafficking: Thousands of men, far from home and families, are holed up in a remote place with ready cash and not many places to spend it. Bars and strip clubs are one option. Online sites also are filled with local ads such as "Body 2 Body Experience" or "Come Enjoy Your WILDEST FANTASIES 2 Girl Show Available."

After settling in North Dakota in late 2013, Lazenko quickly familiarized herself with the local sex-for-sale business. "It was pretty blatant," she says. She noticed less visible signs, too — the motel, for instance, where a broken back-door lock conveniently allowed johns to slip in without having to pass the front desk."(snip)

Most of this makes sense except North Dakota. A minor? WTF is that supposed to mean?

Kudos to both Colorado and NY for having their priorities straight, lol. They know what's important in life.
