Default Biopic / live difference in style

Disclaimer: I have combed SW low and high and to my recollection haven't seen any threads relating to this, so as usual, forgive me if there is one already on this topic.

I was wondering if there was actually any thought process for you gals in how you project your image in your profile pic and how you actually are in chat. I've noticed quite a few models who do look very very different once in their room from their pictures (I'm not just talking about Photoshop wizardry, which I totally get )

I, for one, notice a STEEP decline in profit when I'm glammed up or go for nice lingerie, the smokey eye, the stereotypical Domme look... which is weird to me because when I actually go out like this, men who look like fucking Calvin Klein underwear models just THROW themselves at me. So I go for the pretty/cute Asian co-ed look IN CHAT. My profile pictures and Twitter promo pics, however, tend to be more salacious though, since when I'm browsing for my own benefit, I'll go into rooms for girls with pictures that really pop. Plus I just can't bring myself to do the "I'm a cute kitty cat" selfie. I just... I can't.

With the exception of Dommes (not Princesses or Brats) - where I can see it being pretty devastating, image-wise, do any of you find that you have this discrepancy in image? And have you done tracking income-wise when you changed your biopic?

I have a few biopics I cycle through, and they're all obviously cam screenshots. They give guys an idea of the quality of my cam, lighting and the sort of costumes I have, without the hit-and-miss nature of a live screenshot.

I used to have a pretty glam biopic, but since I started using the screenshots there're fewer in-and-outs in the room: by the time they come in, they already have a good idea what the feed is going to look like.

If you can't bear to have a cutesy biopic, maybe something still glam but with a big friendly smile would bridge the divide between your image on the still and your live feed?

Guys for the most part don't notice our profile pics to utter great detail. The reason I know this? I have a topless biopic. Guys still ask for titty flashes. I think the biopic is more a subconscious draw, they look at it quickly, they see something they like and they are drawn into clicking on it for different reasons depending on the guy. It's good that you are experimenting with your biopic.

Yes, I have tried 3 very different biopics and noticed big differences in each one. For me, more traffic = more privates, so yes, more income is generated based on what my biopic attracts. The results were very noticeable when I went from a biopic where I'm looking away from the camera and conservative in what I reveal, to just a body shot and when I am looking directly at the camera and topless.

My conservative face shot gave me middle of the road traffic, not that much, but not a lot. My body shot gave me the least traffic and more sub guys because I was wearing a dress shirt and mini skirt. My topless shot gave me a very noticeable boost in traffic and therefore, more privates. I thought being topless would make me lose out on gold tips but I actually get more tips now.

I'm curious about this too. Taking pictures gives me anxiety so I started with some old screenshots that were horrible, but still, the image of my face has always attracted more traffic than my nakedness, no matter how close or how clear. Like Hyori, I had a torso biopic of only my boobs, and still I had guys coming in and asking to see titties. o.O Right now I have a very simple shot of my smiling face in closeup, with the setup I currently have on cam, and my accessible traffic has improved a lot. Guys who actually click and talk.

p.s. With the more naked, impersonal biopic, I was definitely getting more assholes. I removed that in a hurry.

My bio-pic is very representative of my free chat cam persona. It's playful and silly. I'm sticking my tongue out and pushing my tits together lol. I actually get a lot of guys who compliment me on the pic. I don't really think about it much otherwise. I'd just put up something that represents who you are. Keep it simple.

NYAAA! LOL! I actually have a set of professional photos where I'm wearing cat ears (I'm not Asian, btw, I just like them), but the pics aren't very popular. Anyhow, this is a really interesting question!

I think that if you are heavily into any particular fetish, your profile pic should reflect that at least a little. Otherwise, I don't think it's a problem if your pic is a different level of glam/casual than you are on cam. Of course, it's not good to have a pic that is outright false advertising, because pretty much all the guys are irritated by photos that look very little like the actual model in terms of age, weight, or extremely heavy photoshopping of prominent features. Most of my pics involve clothing that is more glam lingerie-ish than what I typically wear on cam. I find that the guys give zero shits about what I'm wearing, and mostly will comment on how I look even better live than in my photo (which is true - I'm not very photogenic, and I usually look better in motion).

Your profile pic is like a billboard for you - the only thing it needs to do is pop and catch their eye among all the other pics, and make them want to click your room. Once they're there, they can figure the rest out, so as long as it mostly resembles you, I don't think accuracy is a huge issue. I don't feel that it needs to reflect your cam quality, what your cam space looks like, what you're wearing, etc., because they can see all that stuff in free chat, and it doesn't cost them anything.

One great way to test out your photos is to watch your Twitter carefully. What gets retweeted and favorited a lot? What do your most popular photos have in common? What factors don't seem to matter? With the exception of a couple really good ass pics, my most popular pics on Twitter all focus heavily on my face. They like seeing my cleavage or body, too, but the important thing is that the closest thing to the camera should be my face. Also, they prefer photos where I fill up the frame as much as possible (minimal background showing) and photos that are artistically well balanced. They don't seem to care what I'm wearing, how much clothing I'm wearing, the resolution of the photo, what's going on with my makeup, or how heavily edited it is (if I used a very obvious filter).

I'm really interested to see what other answers people have to this thread!

    What hyori said.
I thought if I had shown more in my biopix guys would just get off to that but it wasn't the case as I've been rotating different styles of images. Face included is important I think, at least for me it is. Any pix of just boobs/butt/legs/ any single body part didn't get me much traffic, pix of me while not making eyecontact with the camera also didn't work well. However you look when you sign on and do well is probably what you should make your photo like. If I change my photo right now to an image not showing my face: I will notice a significant drop in traffic. Including props in the photo worked extremely well for me. All you can do is experiment, what works for me may be bad for you. I'm always looking at popular camgirl poses on twitter and trying to do something opposite of the crowd to see what effect I get. This could vary greatly between each site, like if you look on MFC the top models generally do seem to have their faces in the default pic
