Just wanted to share a success story for those of you who are thinking about chopping off hair because of damage. Am curious to see if this happened to anyone else who went from long to short.
Hmm if anyone remembers a while back I cut off my mid length damaged blonde hair and got a short cut to about an inch under my collarbone. The cut had soft layers. I loved it, but when my boyfriend and male friends and family saw it, I could tell it wasn't a big hit. I guess it seemed plain to them I dunno.
So I never bothered to work with short hair after that reaction and just got extensions put in (never could get the hang of clip ins) And the difference in money from mid length hair to hair nearly down to my butt was amazing. But the upkeep with extensions and roots adds up to $$$$$$ every couple or months. Money's not rolling in like that anymore and even if it was, I should really be saving that instead.
So I told my hair guy I was sick of extensions and I wanted a sexy short cut. Because of the layers from my previous cut, we had to cut my hair to an inch above my collarbone to make it look fuller. So now I have a layered A line bob. It can't even count as a LOB as it's pretty short. but omg the reaction from men in my personal life, on the street, and in the club has been astounding and a total 180 from previous reactions to my last short cut. When I asked my boyfriend what was so hot about it this time, he just looked at me in a daze and ran his hands through my hair while saying "I dunno, it's just so fucking sexy..."
And in a dead dead club last night (like 1-3 customers every 3 hrs) it seems I made all the money in the club and made out pretty well. which surprised me as the club was so bad girls didn't even have $20-30. And I'm not a strong hustler. But men's reactions were similar to my boyfriends. Touching my hair softly in dances and murmuring things like "gosh you're so sexy" "I love your hair" wtf. By the end of the night, my hair was a tousled hot mess because everyone wanted to touch it for some reason. But I came home and boyfriend asked me what I did to my hair to make it look "even hotter" lmao
Will update with how the rest of the week goes as it might have been a fluke. But it's looking pretty positive
This goes against all stripper norms. I am tall, thick, and have been told my whole life inside and outside the industry to rock long hair because of my build. Just thought I'd share to give some hope to any girls trying to hold onto their length. Rock the A line! For some strange reason, men fucking love that cut.
