Default How to find a sex-worker positive housemates?

So, my contract in my current house ends 1st July, and then I move to University 1st January. I'm needing somewhere to live between those dates, but have no idea how to go about finding someone... Never had to before- I've always just lived with university friends, but they're all going to be getting 12 month contracts...

I'm wanting to either rent a place, or move in/rent a place with a housemate who is sex-worker positive, and perhaps even works in the sex industry herself. Any ideas how to go about finding someone?

I met my roommate on here but I wasn't looking for a roommate. It just ... happened. I wouldn't advertise on Craigslist that your a sex-worker but I would contact people who seem open-minded and tell them right away what you do and see what they say. Maybe you could find someone on here then verify through skype?

The craigslist for my area isn't that great at all- not many listings.

I would LOVE to meet someone on here, but it doesn't seem like there's a great deal of active British webcammers on this forum, let alone alone in my area. BUT if any British webcammers with a spare room happen to be reading this, drop me a message. I don't want to post my exact area in the public forums, but I'll let you know in PMs. And of course, happy to verify through skype or whatever.

If you end up living in a large area, there might be a sex workers' org that could put you in touch with people - not necessarily to live with, but definitely to make friends with. E.g. in London there're events run by SWOU and the English Prostitutes Collective, in Scotland there's SCOT-PEP you can get involved in.

(Tbh most places outside London you should be able to cover rent on your own studio or 1-bed - it's well worth the extra few hours of "harder bb" to not deal with housemates.)

In addition, you could try friend-dating on OKC - filter out straight men and use this post as a guide meeting friends who are sex worker positive:

I know it might be a money thing but any chance living alone would work? Luckily I moved in with my best friend who is pretty awesomesauce about all of this, but I constantly think that I'd LOVE to move out to a studio or loft when our lease runs out. I won't solely because I love that boy, but I think for camming even a tiny studio might be ideal. You don't have to worry about anything but the neighbors - you can be loud, you don't have to put away/set up your equipment, and you might have much more room for your camming area than if you were trying to do just a single bedroom.

And ALL of this might actually increase your earnings so that it's worth it.

^^I would second everything she said. Esp. the suggestion to get your own place, even if it's a studio apt/flat.
I am in a roommate situation and it seriously sucks sooo bad! Nosy roomie, no privacy, have to lock myself in my room when I'm home, so I don't have to listen to her yap on and on, and follow me around the house like a lost puppy dog.
It took me over 2 months of searching cl, etc, to find a decent person/room to rent. 9and out of all the weirdos, she is the most decent). argh!! I even put my own ad, specifying I'm only looking for female sex workers, and only men answered it--Oh, and 1 flakey cam girl who didn't even live near me.
I even was turned down by 2 friends of friends who I was going to live with, all because I told them I cammed, and did pso. One girl even had been a pso operator! They swore it was ok to work there, but they both backed out at the last minute. as much as You want to think some people are 'cool' with adult work, they usually aren't. Or they become way too nosy and inquisitive to them and You could end up with a perv on your hands, due to their own curiosity.
My current roommate- and now roommates (cause my roommie pulled a bait and switch and moved in a friend of hers into the room next to me) don't know I cam. I just couldn't tell them, they are very conservative. Plus, even if I di a vanilla job, this horrible roomie pulled soo many baits and switches with amenities, etc, that its so not pleasant to live here,)
I have lost sooo much money, because camming in silence doesn't work for me.
I now have to do irl (domme and escort) sessions to make the money I now need to get my own place( in my case I have evictions and very bad credit, so I will have to give a new landlord heaps of cash in order to get in).
I have lived alone all of my adult life, (except when I was married) and it is awesome!
    Esp. doing adult work... Esp.
    Just my 2 cents.
Please keep us posted as to what you decide to do.
    Best of luck,Glam

A few years back, I used fetlife to find roommates when I was a stripper. There was a local roommate searching group on there, and my roommates didn't care at all that I was a stripper. YMMV of course but it could be worth a try?
