Default Personal protection on the road.

I have carried a pepper spray in my purse for a situation if a jerk comes to my room. I have never got in trouble with LE but got robbed once. I do have a glock 42 but I left it at home most of the time. Because if I get in legal trouble in some states, I will lose my carry license. What do you girls do for road protection?

Knives, baseball bats and a huge wrench. (BTW always carry a baseball glove with the bat to eliminate a lawyer's accusation of premeditation, should you have to deal with the cops after hitting someone with a bat.)

Some of my friends have carried guns but 1) you need to get the proper Interstate permits for the gun or legal trouble can happen and 2) you might as well carry the gun on you for maximum efficacy. (IMO a lot of assaults and rapes of lone women tend to be 2-3 people ganging up on a woman. So you need to be able to grab your gun quickly, otherwise you run the risk of being "blitzed" and knocked out before you have a chance to defend yourself.)

I do have FL conceal carry license, which I've been told it works in 30 states. But I am not sure it will help in a situation like you described.

Some states have reciprocity laws with others regarding gun permits. As always with things like this you should check the website of your state's Department of Public Safety (or equivalent). If you are going to travel and use any sort of weapon; be it a gun, knife, Tazer, pepper spray, or baseball bat; you need to know how to use it. Especially with a gun, if you are not going to the range and shooting it at least occasionally you are doing yourself a disservice. Also no matter what you are going to use for self defense check the laws of the states you are going to. They all have different laws concerning knives, pepper spray, etc.

Florida Resident permits are honored in: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming.
