take tissue paper and cover it, and then take a comb and kind of, well, "comb" the hickey. it helps distribute blood.
use a cold spoon.

epsom salt compresses or ichthammol http://www.cvs.com/shop/health-medic...t-skuid-705149
After it is there you want to increase circulation and healing to get rid of it asap thus cold doesn't work too well. Vitamin E ; bioflavonoids ; ginko biloba ; niacin and other things that promote circulation and healing. Until then , dermablend.
Purchase Hard Candy Glam of Lauge and Hard Candy matte face powder. I use to apply this to my neck to hide hickeys from my over the top, religious/god, easily sex offended Grandmother who would lose her shit at the site of a mark on my neck.
1. Apply one coat of Glam and place a dab of matte to seal.
2. Apply a second coat of Glam and add a second seal.
Done
You can choose to also purchase Living Doll, which turns you from ghostly skin tone to looking awake and lively. Most expensive next to thick, pure coats would be banana powder. The problem I've always had with using store bought makeup was it usually contained oils causing it to rub off after a few hours. Though I am sure their formula may contain oil as well, it becomes pretty damn thick when applied! Doing Amazon makeup search reviews pointed me in that direction and after years of using and loving Hard Candy powder, they were sadly pulled off the shelves..Matte use to be $8 starting out and now sells for $17/$20, but it works + lasts a good while!
Hickeys take time on their own to go away as blood starts to flow and applying cold pressure can help speed the process, I say a few days and you won't need much to conceal it..

My trick when I was in high school (haven't had a hickey in a long time lol) was white eyeshadow. When you put concealer or foundation over hickeys it seems to make them more noticeable but when you put white eyeshadow on them and then concealer or foundation it actually works. This doesn't make them go away but it hides them if you don't want it noticeable in public.
I am the queen of hickies. If i need to get rid of one, I usually take the lid to a chapstick, place it over my hickey, and twist it hard against my skin. it pushes the blood around and helps it break up faster. then i take a green concealer stick and put it over the hickey. if if it slides around, you can put some powder to keep it in place. Then cover with foundation.
I never hide mine anymore though because I LOVE them.
i apply dermablend with an eyemakeup brush then add a layer of my regular concealer on top. dermablend stays on foreverr.
The "quarter trick" + concealer.

Arnica.

I was told as a teenager to stick a peeled chunk of raw potato in the fridge/freezer until it was cold, and use that to massage it. I was a lazy kid, though, so I would just cover it with a thick concealer, blend foundation, and powder seal. I almost never get hickies now but, if I do get one I care enough to cover in the future, I'll be experimenting with the potato trick and castor oil at night since castor oil gets rid of under eye circles.
