Practice! I'm currently trying to do that right now and it's hard coordinating XD Upper body and arm strength definitely helps too

Don't use your arms to climb up, just use them to hold your place while you climb with your legs.

You have to kind of curve your foot around the pole to anchor your lower body and also lift with both your upper arms. Also make sure your hands and body (as well as the pole) are free from anything slippery like lotions and what not.

When I first started, I used the plastic front part of my shoe to help grip the pole.

I am definitely finding that out lol. My arms are pretty sore from practice yesterday so I'm not really making any progress today

Thanks yall. I'm def a YouTube student. And agree its much easier using my legs, pushing off to extend from my legs, and using my heels for more of a grip (accidentally figured that out lol). Its more of after the initial mount where I'm proceeding to climb is when I'm having problems. I'm not sure if I should use my abs to bring my legs up after extending and reaching my arms up or if they should just naturally go up while climbing. Lol idk, I'm sure once it clicks I'm gonna be like "whyyy was I making that so hard"

Are there any pole fitness classes in your area? It's a lot easier to learn in a more relaxed environment with an instructor. I took a class recently and learned a ton. And found out that there were much easier ways yo do some of the moves I use regularly.

You can use your knees and ankles to lock onto the pole, then use your mid-section to hoist yourself up and grab onto the pole with your hands. And keep climbing like that. Like how a caterpillar would do it.

Okay that makes sense. I was thinking it was your midsection bringing your legs up. I need to work on my core
