Question Has anyone danced in Austin, TX?

I think I need a change in life, new scenery. Austin seems cool enough. Anyone have any info on good clubs, money making potential etc etc?

There isn't really any money in Austin, it's all broke college kids, and the clubs are pretty dirty.

Austin is becoming a better town since bigger events are coming to town, but is good ONLY during the duration of those events. SXSW and the Rodeos just happened so I take you missed those two big events. The next big events coming to town are the X-Games this upcoming June, the ACL fest in October, and the Fun Fun Fest in November.

In a city with almost a MILLION people not everyone is a college kid, honey. Austin is like the new San Jose, hence is colloquially known between tech circles as "Silicon Hills". But of course, most of those workers are cheap HB-1 workers who won't spend on strippers.

I was there circa 2012 briefly and worked Perfect 10, Palazio and Sugar's. All the customers I observed were either young, cheap, or wanted extras.

Was SXSW and/or the Rodeos happening when you came in 2012? In 2013 Austin got a racing track (Circuit of the Americas) and this started to bring even bigger events (NASCAR races, the X-Games, concerts featuring major acts, etc). It is a completely different Austin now. I mean, if Palazio thought that forking half a million on some trashy teen mom from MTV to be an occasional feature was a good idea, that should be a sign that things are slowly picking up (last year, a friend felt kinda weird dancing there with her around).

BTW, Rush is coming next month!
