Default Cute girl.. but skinny & black NYC

Hey.. So where do I start?!
I am not a dancer, not as of yet at least but for some reason I have my heart set on working at either Scores or Sapphire (NYC). First thing first, I'm scared of rejection. Secondly, I'm nervous as hell. I guess it mainly has to do with the fact that I don't have a big ol stripper booty.. I don't have much for a black girl at all.. and also because I'm black and I'm not sure if we'd do well working in the city. I mean.. I'm cute and all but tiny.
Along with that.. where in the world am I getting a gown?!?! Lol. Besides online. (Like I said, I'm tiny.. I gotta try it on before I go ordering online and end up swimming in it!)
Also.. about how much could be expected from working in the city..for a beginner at least..?

Hey I posted a response to this awhile ago!

    1. There is nothing wrong with being skinny + tall = modelesque
    2. " " + short = spinner
    3. While racism is still alive and well in the adult word due to a general overall failure of attitudes and business models to evolve...the celebrity status strippers who have become "famous" on social media are almost all black so if you keep that negativity out of mind from the start you have very little to worry abut.

You should be able to get hired at either. Manhattan clubs love skinny black girls. GIrls with huge stripper booties work in QUeens, not Manhattan generally so you have nothing to worry about. Empire exotica on 33rd and broadway across from Rick's is a good place to get a dress that you can actually try on. Also, Scores has it's own dress lady that you can also buy dresses from.

"i dont have much for a black girl at all" kill this mindset that b/c youre a black girl there are a set of physical traits required to validate you.

Thanks guys. My main concern is that I'll be nervous and flop. I know my body is pretty attractive however the stereotype of a dancer is what gets to me- being a bit curvaceous, nice little butt. I think I want to try Sapphire but am afraid of rejection (sad that some are racist. Not quite sure which ones though).. I know of Scores but I've been looking for a gown for almost a week now, and I read up on Vivid. Anyone knows if that's welcoming for slimmer girls?

Girl the best thing to do is just go in there looking your best and go audition. None of us can really say for sure if they will hire you or not. Just do your hair makeup and nails and put on a hot outfit for when you go there. Also have a hot costume for your audition. Every day you delay you could be making $. Goodluck!

P.S. All of us no matter the experience hate rejection.

By your description, you shouldn't have any problems getting hired. Unless they tell you they want experienced dancers. If you've never danced and wanna audition at those clubs, you better glue yourself to HH. Cause a lot of those girls make their money doing extras. Not to say a clean dancer can't make money, but I just hope you learn how to work your way around it.

    Good luck!

As far as I know, summer season is pretty slow in the city. Besides, you are new to dancing,so if I were you, I would gain experience somewhere else. Manhattan with its fierce competition and high house fees/tip outs might be not the best place to start. Not trying to discourage you though!

And yeah, as other posters said, you don't need to have big booty to work in the city. They prefer skinny girls. It's different in Queens/Bronx's clubs though. Does not mean you couldn't make money in other boroughs though. I am thin with no ass at all yet do pretty well in urban club.

In a lot of city clubs you can lower your house fees or knock them out completely by getting to your shift before a certain time. I always do that and am I newbie as well. Maybe get your feet wet at a mid tier club but honestly it may not be necessary. Say you worked somewhere else for a couple months and jump into the shark tank, so to speak. It is very competitive but if you have that edge as well you will be fine. Don't let anyone intimidate you! And yes second what everyone says, skinny is ideal in Manhattan.

Most of all you can't be afraid of rejection! We get rejected in different forms every night. I've been straight up not allowed to audition at one place...just keep it pushing and thrive!
