I have danced since I was 19. had children since I was 21. I always had my husband or mom or mom-in-law babysit night shift. I always lied and said I waitressed at lonestar and was there for clean up til midnight, got home by 1am. Later (next husband) I told mom I was bartending so I could roll in at 3am. I found a woman ONE time who would watch my son for $4 an hour all night because she didn't want to wake him up at 3am. She loved him like her own, took him to the zoo on days I didn't ask her to babysit, she was awesome. She was a daughter of an older lady, our neighbor, she was a stay at home mom with teenage daughters. I have never found a person utside the home other than her. I have interviewed, visited, met, etc and all these people were either dirty, had 17 animals running around or smoked inside their home....I wouldn't leave my cat with them all day, let alone my kid. I looked into a 24 hour daycare place up the road from me, but it only had 2 google reviews, both bad.
Are there any girls at work you trust that you could alternate shifts with and swap childcare with so it doesn't cost you anything?

Check out Care.com for a list of nannies and nanny agencies near you. I don't have kids but my friend who I work with does and she found her babysitter off of there. She loves her and so do her kids.

My retired husband was the one that cared for my son when I danced.

Someone who took care of me when I was a tween has helped me immensely with my own child. I feel very lucky. Its very hard and expensive to work the good hours/days as a stripper when you have a kid. Also, now that my kid is a bit older and potty trained and all has begun to go on an annual road trip with the grandparents every summer. I get a whole month to do whatever I want which I actually spent working like every single day.
I usually use two family members to watch the kiddo but it's rough cause I have to bend to their schedule as i have yet to tell them why I really need childcare.
I am in the process of hiring care / driver to help out so I can make the better shifts but I am worried the kid will ask too many questions like "where are you going this late at night aren't you supposed to be reading a bedtime story"
I miss out on shifts and work cause I have yet to hire outside care.
“Cook for him like a housewife, fuck him good like a nympho….pay the rent and the car note, he invests in me like crypto”

I'm obviously not a dancer, so take whatever I have to say on this topic with a grain of salt and I will delete this if you ask...
I've gotten to know a lot of Moms in this business over the years and they virtually all struggled with this issue. Most of them had relatives or SOs watching the kids and those who could not be honest about their work usually used "waitress" or "bartender" as their cover jobs, since it explained both the late hours and cash tips that they brought home.
The obvious problem with using paid babysitters is that it significantly raises the nightly nut that a dancer has to cover. I knew a couple of dancers who used babysitters, but they were always under a lot of pressure, especially on nights when their clubs were dead. They also had to work closer to home in case a serious problem popped up with the child, since a paid babysitter can only be trusted to do so much.
I'm not sure there is a great answer here, unless you: (1) have someone who you could swap child care hours with; (2) have a close friend or relative that you trust and who is willing to help out; or (3) are sure that you can earn enough each night, from a club close to your home, to make additional childcare costs manageable.
In any event, good luck!

I would also point out that the financial 'risk' of engaging a paid babysitter is only a part of the potential 'risk factors' the dancer mom may face. Consider a scenario where the child experiences some sort of health problem / injury which forces the paid babysitter to call emergency services. The arrival of emergency services will very probably escalate to an EMT / police report being made to Child Protective Services ... which could in turn lead to '20 questions' ... beginning with what the mother was doing at the time of the incident, etc.The obvious problem with using paid babysitters is that it significantly raises the nightly nut that a dancer has to cover. ^^^ There is nothing unlawful about a mother working night-shift and having a responsible adult watch her children while she works.

There are some child care centers that are open 24 hours. Here's one article I saw:

Maybe there's one near you.

I have babysitters for night time and it really eats up a lot of my earnings. Really annoying... 24 hour daycare sounds great price wise, I never knew that existed until now. But I prefer my son being in his own bed at night. He doesn't even know I'm gone at night.
I have him in daycare during the day, which I use to sleep. It's very draining... I don't get good sleep cause I get homes t 5 and then have to get up again at 7 to drop him off. And on the weekends I either have to pay the sitter even more $$$ to sleep in or pick either Friday or Saturday cause I physically can't do both because of exhaustion.
