Crossfingers Any dancers in LA who can "guide" me ?

So I am moving to LA and want to start dancing to support myself. I've never done this before and I am freaking out. I looked around this website for clubs to audition at and have a couple ideas but it would just be nice to have a "friend" who's been doing this already to help me out. Any tips specific to LA etc would be appreciated. I can message my IG link or email as well thanks in advance ladies

Girl, you don't need a guide, especially when there is SO MUCH information available on here, both about LA and about hustling/dancing in general. Honestly, you should be wary of anyone who offers to be a "guide" or to "help" you, particularly if you meet them in the club. Always think: what's in it for them? They don't tend to help out of the goodness of their hearts. Newbies are already often targets for pimps (who often work through their dancers, just as a heads up) and people looking to take advantage, and that will only be amplified if you're actively looking for someone to guide you.

^ There was a thread about that side of dancing not too long ago- along the themes of whether you can trust a dancer who offers to help. I'm not sure I necessarily agree that you have to be wary- because I wasn't and I was mentored by many ladies along the way but i do think that these sorts of relationships tend to happen more organically rather than being organised prior to starting.

I think its great to use SW as a resource and if you stay active and cultivate your relationships on here then it might translate to meeting some of the girls and getting specific advice but i think that initially it will be very much about who you meet in the club and if your instincts are strong in terms of trust and keeping your healthy boundaries.

Ok that makes a lot of sense I guess it'll all come naturally to me. I guess strippers are kind of backstabbing bitches . I'm just so nervous and reading these threads has really helped me a lot. Thanks ladies!

Wow, really feelin' the love there.

You'll better serve yourself by reading thru this site as much as you can -- club section, hustle hut & safety tips in particular to get an idea of what you'll be walking into -- than going in & trying to make friends right away. Just keep your eyes & ears open -- there is a learning curve to this job, but you don't need sm1 else holding your hand to navigate it.

Are all other strippers going to be out to get you? No. Many don't give a shit & just want to be left alone to hustle in peace. Sm will have a 'Queen Bitch' mentality & try to fk w/ you or outright run you out. You will probably find girls like me & quite a few of the others on here, who are happy to give you pointers here&there but don't want to be followed around all nite by a clingy newbie. Unfortunately, you will also encounter girls who may try to recruit you to work for their pimps, or pressure you towards other dangerous activity. Those are the ones you'll tend to attract w/ this 'Come rescue me, I'm freaking out!' energy.

Auditioning alone is a bit like a rite of passage, but once you've done it, you'll be unstoppable! You just need to break through that mental barrier and get your li'l buns into a club.

If you're a responsible type of person, it'd help to find a club where you set up an actual appointment to audition. Then you'll be able to hold yourself accountable to actually showing up. Even if it's just "the hiring manager is here on Mondays from 3:00 - 6:00," that's much better than "come in any time!"

I definitely didn't mean it like that lol it's just a stereotype and from what I've read on here I guess I can't rely too much on other people but that's life. Definitely think I'm nervous because it's something new but once I get myself in there I will probably feel different. And I will definitely report back to tell you how freakin nervous I was lol Thanks ladies

If you think about it, we were all "normal" girls once. Non-strippers are just as likely to be backstabbing bitches as strippers. This is a job where you can only ever rely on yourself, but that doesn't mean you have to be distrustful of anyone else.
